They signed Gibson... following up 10.7 fWAR created from just Lynn and Minor.  Two completely under the radar moves. 

They have a beautiful new facility.... their third in a quarter century, and as good a shot at Donaldson and Ryu/Bumgarner/Keuchel as anyone else.

I think Iowa vs. OSU/PSU/UM/Wisconsin/Nebraska in recruiting is closer. 

The difference is turning 2~3 star recruits into Dallas Clark, Kittle, Hockenson and Fant.   But there's just no way they could win an NCAA title in football or basketball. 

Whereas the White Sox have a puncher's chance at another WS if everything goes just right, like 2005 and 2008 the last two weeks.

Probably is, but at least he’s only a year removed from showing a pulse. Pujols has been a waste for the last three years, and they weren’t even injury-stricken years. He’s just bad now.

Seriously, I know it didn’t harm Frank at all, but I’m gonna be salty if Pujols gets something like 98% of the HOF vote on the first try and nobody even mentions his decline. They all talked about Frank’s decline, but except for his increasingly more common injuries with age, Frank hit like a HOFer pretty much until he hung up his cleats. Pujols hasn’t hit like one of those since he was 31.

I’m not even mad about Rendon. I knew that wouldn’t happen. Last year was just a show for the fans. They knew Manny wouldn’t take that offer. At this point, it’s just boiling to a head. I’m over it. I want to have a fun baseball team and franchise. Off-seasons are a gut punch every year.

I’m all for meltdowns, but this one is ridiculous. Want to know why the Sox didn’t want to go after him for a long deal?  He’s already like 5 years older than Manny was when he was a FA. I love Rendon, but there are other places to spend the money.
