  • Worth noting that with regard to his outspokenness, he is still without a job.

  • I've never understood the desire to get rid of McCann or Collins, since, you know, we don't need to.

Trading 6 years of collins when mccann is a FA next year is a tatis tier move. a 2 fWAR starting catcher should yield a RP better than the scraps that were available this offseason. (see Tampa)

I'd like them to add McHugh.  I think he would be a good pickup for the pen and spot starts when needed.

I would love to try a reclamation project with Pedro Strop.. 1 year 4 million.  Dude was lights out for a decade before last years debacle.

Not if his asking price is still over $10 million...and the expectation of getting at least 20-24 starts.

We can't guarantee that like some of the Bottom 10 teams can.

I said what I'd like, to make this team as competitive as possible...I acknowledge it is not likely.

From Keith Law's chat today.

Quote

Anthony: Thoughts on the White Sox offseason? Been incredibly busy, but does it translate into anything in 2020 and beyond?
Keith Law: Yes, I think it does.
Keith Law: I also don’t think they’re done.

I'll believe it when Not_Steve_Cishek tweets it.

Yep, two different people brought up Castellanos and Puig and he simply responded “No” to each of them.

The man definitely had someone telling him stuff.  He did pretty well.  He'll live in infamy here for years.

No, he’s definitely not in the minority.  2 years of control does not help the Sox with long-term success and winning.

Yet we've spent how many hours and threads debating doing the exact same thing with the likes of Machado and Betts for just ONE season???

If bmags is going to advocate for Betts, surely there are others who would make the same trade for Thor, knowing the risk involved, but also realizing windows open and close more quickly in the majors than ever predicted (see Cubs/Royals).

Anyone who thought the Sox were legitimately going to trade for one year of Machado or Betts before they hit free agency was obviously clueless or not paying attention.

Sox definitely tried to get Manny via trade

I don’t buy it at all and I doubt a trade was ever close.  I think they were just trying to show Manny their interest in him a year early in preparation for their wooing of him during last offseason.
