Well, Clint Eastwood got his break with that show...and needed a haircut.   But can Greg also carry on a conversation with an empty chair?

“Remember Pig Pen, who had a cloud of dust around him at all times?” Ann Arbor resident Joe Miriani asked The Daily Beast. “That’s what the virus is like. A mask isn’t going to stop that.

(CNN)  Sweden has revealed that despite adopting more relaxed measures to control coronavirus, only 7.3% of people in Stockholm had developed the antibodies needed to fight the disease by late April.

The figure, which Sweden's Public Health Authority confirmed to CNN, is roughly similar to other countries that have data and well below the 70-90% needed to create "herd immunity" in a population.

It comes after the country adopted a very different strategy to stop the spread of coronavirus to other countries by only imposing very light restrictions on daily life.

Sweden's chief epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said the number was a "little lower" than expected "but not remarkably lower, maybe one or a couple of percent."

LITERALLY NO ONE IS SAYING WEARING A MASK KEEPS YOU FROM CATCHING IT.

EVERYONE IS SAYING WEARING A MASK CUTS DOWN ON THE AMOUNT OF IT YOU BREATHE OUT AFTER YOU'RE SICK.

IT DOESN'T HELP YOU, IT HELPS EVERYONE ELSE.

Beat me to it.  I feel like that is the part that most people that are protesting and refusing to wear a mask don't understand.  It was never to protect you...it is to protect the people you interact with in case you are someone that is asymptomatic.

All these Karen idiots refusing to wear masks at stores in public places just blow my mind.  It is called PUBLIC health....meaning for the general PUBLIC.  What you do in your own house is your own business but when you are in PUBLIC you should follow PUBLIC guidelines.

Russia coronavirus chief:  “Those meant to die will die.  Everyone dies.”

Alexander Myasnikov, previously a celebrity doctor, made the controversial comments during an interview with pro-Putin pundit Vladimir Solovyov, broadcast on Tuesday:

The infection will still take its toll, and we’ll all get it. Those meant to die will die. Everyone dies. Even if it’s coronavirus, so what? Of course, you need to get a test to avoid infecting others, but you do understand it’s an illusion. We’ll run out of tests if everyone runs out to check after every sneeze.

a.) I really don't want to die from coronavirus. That will suck if some b.s. disease created suspiciously is what takes me from earth. Hope I don't die and you all don't die from this.

b.) Well, it's official. The hatred Americans have toward each other is out of control. Some young man at a nursing home in Detroit is caught on tape beating the hell out of an old lady patient. They arrested him later. Hopefully he'll get life in prison. ... and a church in Mississippi burns to the ground over coronavirus concerns. Somebody didn't like them holding services. I wonder if this mask/no mask thing will cause violence soon. People wearing masks attacking those who don't.

It's amazing how far we're falling.

Elder abuse is horrific.  It also has absolutely nothing to do with the coronavirus so I have no idea how that got shoehorned in there but whatever

Why haven't you bought a gun yet? Why are you not planning a move to Mexico or someplace safer? Your chances of survival will be slim with the riots that are coming, I understand the folks that don't believe the hype not being prepared, but you are one of the few that really understand what's coming, yet you are just letting it happen. I was puzzled by this but it's all finally coming together, getting clearer . . .

You know this is a suspicious virus, created with ill intents towards America. But instead of trying to end it, you want to help it along. You want to help spread the virus by being in public, without a mask, getting haircuts and stuff and wanting others to follow your example. It must be your sworn duty. Clearly you are the enemy, yet you are trying so hard to warn the good people here. Sadly, so many are ignoring you. You are brave G7 to try to lead us away from America's ruin. And as a Texan, and American, I salute you.

All epic Texas stories end in Mexico. Lonesome Dove, The Road, Blood Meridian . . .

If you can't have people masked, then yeah, indoor tennis would be very likely to transmit, regardless of the distance. If 100 people in a fitness studio can get it from 1 person, then it's going to get from one partner to the other during an hour of high effort exercise.

I'm not sure that's true, because gravity (this virus needs droplets to travel upon), but honestly I can't sit here and say I know what the danger is overall. Substantially less than smaller spaces and closer together like a typical gym class space I am sure, and not 100% safe I am also sure. Where in between I don't know.

Playing singles tennis, baseline to baseline is 78 feet. Even if you both rush the net to get to the midline, that's like 40 feet of gap and only on those occasions. In a room that is not only big enough for multiple tennis courts wide, but also has ceilings that have to be 30' or more. I would have to think that is nearly as safe as being outside. I am more worried about the ball, as DA pointed out, as it travels and is handled by each player.

They are also typically partitioned so the exposure is likely contained to the court itself

Have you lived in this country for long? Have you been sleeping through all the horrible things we have been doing to each other for the past few hundred years?

Lol

So, scientists and doctors correct, Trump wrong. Who would have figured? Apparently, there is a dire shortage of ICU beds in Alabama.

The other sad news is a new study indicates that as many as 42% of the recent job losses will not come back.

Competent leadership matters. There is all kinds of info how this was basically ignored for a couple of months, and it has really hurt everyone except the filthy rich. Bezos net worth has gone up $34 billion since this began, Zuckerberg $25 billion.

Sign of the times, I have multiple masks here and I'm kind of matching them to what I'm wearing.

Trump now demanding all churches be open. Says if Governors don't oblige, he will override them. Truly a man of God.

Thank goodness. Liquor stores have been open. My pastor has safety regulations totally in place. I would love to see a list of states Trump is overriding. We sit three to a row eight feet apart. Every fourth row. Masks mandatory. Hand cleaner at door. if I get it I get it. Shoulda done this weeks ago regarding churches compared to liquor stores. Anybody know if Illinois churches have been open? They are now.

p.s. Like I said about last Sunday. Our Mass had 14 people. Across the street. Graduation party with at least 50. No masks. Gimme a break at the discrepancy. Pastors are taking precautions. If we get it we get it just like if we go to the store for some booze.

Interesting that these churches took those same precautions...

Why does he want to override them on this issue when he has been deferring to governors for so long? Does he even have the authority to do this?

This is so phony, it reeks. At my wife's church, no one wants to return yet. So many of the congregation is over 60. I guess they don't feel like dying when the service is already streamed.

We have a limit of 70 max people. Last week there were 14. Way more dangerous to be in a liquor store IMO. People are committing suicide. People are freaking out and depressed. We need church. As trump said it's an essential service. He even mentioned the liquor store fiasco. It's pretty obvious with the NCAA allowing kids on campus for volunteer workouts and the openings of movie theatres in conservative states like Kansas, that like it or not, the plan has begun to open everything up and pretty much allow us all to get the virus. Let's pray (or hope if you are not religious) we have bodies strong enough to prevail over the virus. The economy simply has to open no matter what the exotic ice cream eating governors think. Only other option is socialism and start sending us all 10,000 a crack not 1,200 bucks. Peace.
