Abreu loves to play against the Tigers.  Even on defense, apparently.   Perhaps feeling the Vaughn footsteps closing in...

Cease breaking ball has decent action but really not much command. Often either fat in the zone or a for outside, not many in that borderline strike area maybe an inch outside where you want it.

IF cease can keep runners off, the solo shots are fine. Nice rebound. 

Typically if you can throw fly balls in this park, you will be all right, but the ball seems to be flying today. We will see how that holds up.

Now batting, the Mark Johnson/Royce Clayton section of the line-up.   Wait.   Nobody was that depressing to watch for a season.

Mazara or Mendick could at least run into one.

Mazara needs a golf club to hit that pitch

On the plus side, guys like Joc Pederson and Springer are scuffling this year...and they're not going to be able to get huge long-term deals heading into yet another year of Covid uncertainty as well as the labor negotiations.

1-2 year deals are fine for the White Sox right now with the veterans.   Even the Grandal contract is scary, at least a bit.

Mendick again with a professional at bat regardless of outcome

Springer will absolutely get a huge contract.  I don't think Joc was never up for one..

730 OPS and 31 heading into next season.

Wouldn't dream of giving him more than 3 years.   If someone wants to give 4-5, great, let them have him.   We need to surround the young core with more professional hitters, he has so much swing and miss in his game, and his best years are going to be behind him, so, once again as Balta always points out, paying for past performance.

Cease really doing a good job there of getting off the mound and racing over to the 1B bag with a purpose...

Cease is just sooooo much better when he works ahead.  But he has so much movement, I don't know that he will ever have decent control.
