OF Brian Goodwin has signed a deal with the White Sox, per source.

There's your big move. The team is on the field.

(Everyone runs to Baseball Reference to see a journeyman bumb the White Sox originally drafted in 2009)

Ugh.

The Luis injury could not have come at a better time for Goodwin, who had the opt-out with the Pirates yesterday.

Easier to overreact LOL

he is left handed... that's all - the rest is scrub city.

I’d rather have Goodwin in CF than Lamb anywhere

I don’t think Goodwin can play cf anymore.  If he were replacing Eaton, I get it, but how’s he gonna find playing time?  I guess they’re gonna throw him out there and give it a whirl.

Think I recall pretty recently seeing him in center for the angels when Trout was on the IL.

He seemed serviceable.

I agree.  Even if it was Luis Gonzalez, with Leury primarily in cf, I say bring up Mendick and DFA Lamb.  A third DH is a luxury at this point.

Why do we keep signing these backup OF’s when we have better options in the minors?

Because they don't

Who exactly do you think they could bring in on May 4th?

So they plan on releasing Hamilton for this guy? Not that it really matters either way.  Both are AAAA players.

Why would they release Hamilton?

Kenny always gets his guy.

If this guy makes the MLB roster they have to release Hamilton or Lamb to make room for him.

I was joking, he's not even on the major league roster.
