Sox have really let Detroit hang around. 1-9 with RISP, 10 guys left.  We’ve been 1 hit from putting this away for the last 4 innings.  Hope it doesn’t bite us in the ass.  Couple of hard hit balls by Vaughn and Collins, what are you gonna do?

  • TLR must have seen that "Is Leury's time almost up" thread and wanted to reassure that he's definitely here to stay.

  • It really shouldn't be the catcher's job to frame clear strikes.

  • At what point do we stop scoreboard watching a team trailing by 14 games?

Marshall's got that change up working. When he gets ahead he's pretty good.

Thanks.

Tony nnew Vaughn wouldn't be able to get to a ball a few innings later, allowing him to pull Rodon. 4D Chess.

He knew Vaughn would miss it...thus forcing him to take Rodon out of the game, thus saving his arm/shoulder for the second half and postseason.   Would have taken too much heat if he pulled him with no hitter still in front of him.

Tatis, Jr., just hit his second GS (19) to stop bleeding for the Padres against a very tough Mets’ rotation...

Who’s that?

We're lucky Buck Farmer forgot how to throw strikes in the 5th. Otherwise this is probably a 2-1 game.

He's very relevant to this thread

Well if your offense is having a shit day, better it is against Detoilet. The next week we need real lineups and concentration.

We will get the best of the Rays’ rotation with Wacha spot starting today...

Moncada really scuffling the last 7-10 days.   Need him to be a Top 10 MLB player again.  In many ways, the most important player on the team (along with TA), especially with Robert, Madrigal and Jimenez out.

Why do we always try to jinx ourselves, lol?  Remember the same talk at different points of 2003 and 2006.

If we go 4-3 or 5-2 through the next week, then we can start to look forward a bit.

Hendriks was warming earlier, but now it's Heuer.

I was trying to be optimistic.  But please dig up 2003 or 2006 as if it’s still relevant.

Eaton bunting for a hit on 2-0?

Eaton safe on the bunt.

I guess Adam knows he really sucks vs. LHP.

All of a sudden someone hustling down the line scares the crap out of me.

Exactly. I’m really looking forward to this week to see how the Sox match up with two other good AL teams.

Center field in Detroit really sucks. Engel crushed that and it went nowhere.

Comerica center field swallows up another long fly ball.

Eaton hurt himself that way with the Nats too. So he knows all about it.

Would have been nice not to have to use Hendriks yet again heading into this Hell Week.
