One of the biggest surprises of this season is hit and running/trying to steal with Robert with Abreu at the plate.  Robert is 5 for 5 and we have avoided the dreaded Abreu double play ball which hurt us last season.  That was my biggest peeve with TLR last season.  Kudos to TLR this season for the adjustment.

yeah nice catch. Robert is gonna be a 30/30 guy this year, but boy would 40/40 be cool.

If he can stay healthy...

Maybe TLR one year in is listening to his staff and we see good moves being made.

I’m cool with 30 steals.  I love what the threat to run does, but the extra wear & tear is a concern.  30/30 doesn’t seem so crazy either. 

It's been working. A couple fouls have been frustrating, but so too where there double plays.

The double plays are far more frustrating. With teams knowing that Robert is a likely threat to run, it changes the pitch strategy with Abreu. All those low and away sliders and stuff should be considered riskier. Plus the pitchers (and catchers) may also make mistakes when they’re thinking about Robert. It’s a very good thing.

There's the whole "if he can stay healthy" thing, as well as the whole "if he can adjust to the adjustments the league makes on him" thing, too. Luckily he seems like he's able to develop some semblance of patience out there.

this lineup needs more OBP, seems like we are saying that literally every year
