August 8, 20223 yr Author you can definitely see how baseball america has really shifted how they rate prospects. Far more younger, rising hitters, far less pitchers than they used to rank, far less immediate ranking of top college players right out of draft.

He makes lots of contact, lots of impact and plays excellent defense in center field. He started hot in Double-A as well, and earned an invitation to the 2022 Futures Game as well. Chicago's horde of Cuban prospects has been a constant in recent years, and Colas looks like the next in line.

If dude is handling CF in the minors I think he should be at least a 50 in RF. IMO, power is more like 65 than 60. And they're underrating the hit at 50. Dude is wiping his dick across the faces of AA pitching and is now walking more and seems to be chasing less. But they think he's like a 255 hitter in MLB? Thats a littlr light. This guy should be a 275/340/520 guy. Hit is 55. If this dude keeps hitting a bomb like every other day he should be a top 50 prospect savage by the end of the year. August 12, 20223 yr Colas looks more than adequate in the field from what I've seen. Let's hope he continues to take his conditioning seriously because he was a bit fluffy before he made his official state-side debut. Quote Scouting Report: Power is the calling card for Colas, who some in the White Sox organization believe could turn into a 30-plus home run hitter. Colas has plus raw power and generates lift in his swing. International scouts were split on Colas' pure hitting ability, though he wasn' t getting tested against age-appropriate pitching while training in the Dominican Republic. In Cuba, Colas had a heavyset first base type build, but after leaving he transformed himself physically to shed weight. That should help him handle a corner outfield spot, with a plus arm for right field. The White Sox have even considered giving him time in center field, but he projects long term in a corner, with some first base risk depending how his conditioning goes.

Difference in opinion between the writer and the staff (or algorithm), which is interesting because I’m used to seeing outfielders called fringe in centerfield and they then get a 50 or 55 fielding. Any resident experts have an opinion because I’ve mostly heard that he is an above average RF that can handle occasional CF starts.
