Anyone have any insight on university of Texas catcher? I heard he’s great defensively. I agree with you guys a college  catcher is necessary.

  • Henceforth he shall be known as The Italian Beef.

  • I'm surprised that you thought of me. After all, he hits right handed. LOL Interesting, the year before he had 16 homers, in 160 at bats. So, two years in a row, he hit one homer, every 10 at bat

well he was taken by baltimore if this was a sox specific question you had

i think catcher-wise, the only college one left I think is interesting is Max Romero out of Miami and previously vanderbilt. But...I don't think he'll be particularly good.

And shit ricketts even went now lol. But that's more for offense.

Riopelle is fine too, but still a weak armed catcher.

My fault.

Thanks for some catcher names and info.

So many pitchers

Mark McLaughlin
Tennessee RHP
Notes:
HT: 6-3 | Wt: 205 | B-T: R-R
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.4
McLaughlin has had three extremely effective seasons in Tennessee’s bullpen. In 2022 he went 2-1, 2.01 with 45 strikeouts, 12 walks and a .191 average against in 31.1 innings. His velocity wavered at times this year, but at his best, he fills the strike zone with a 92-94 mph fastball from an over-the-top release point. He mixes in a big-breaking, mid-70s curveball with 12-to-6 shape.

Ranked 444th for BA.

Another pitcher Sox take.. and the first guy unranked by MLB.com.

blech still too many relievers for me

Houston took Blue Balls.  2 completley different pitchers when he's starting or relieving.  Stuff plays up out of the pen.  Meh

Holy shit I was wondering why Matt Wood hasn't been drafted yet.  I missed him going to the Brewers in the 4th.  Here's a delayed DAMN IT!

I don't get it.  Every year they say they're gonna address the catcher position but they never do.

If he ever makes the big leagues they're naming an Italian beef stand after him.

well, his stat lines are disgusting. He led nation in walks. He was first team MAC. Has a 1.000 ops.

He's also 23.

Usually people on this board aren't a fan of high floor lower stuff pitchers.

I like the control pitchers.

They do if they’re in the third - not the first. ? Hello Lance Broadway.
