Cannon is going to be a guy that absolutely carves up his initial low level assignment.

They should send him to DSL for fun.

  • Henceforth he shall be known as The Italian Beef.

  • I'm surprised that you thought of me. After all, he hits right handed. LOL Interesting, the year before he had 16 homers, in 160 at bats. So, two years in a row, he hit one homer, every 10 at bat

There goes Brock Porter with the Kumar savings.

The Rangers got Brock Portoer.  That Rocker pick looks a little better.

Cannon sounds like he could be a fast mover.

Love the Cannon pick!!!

There goes Ritter.  Absolute steal.  That kid's gonna hit.

I feel bad about talking negatively about Cannon. I'm just abused from BA's love affair with college friday night pitchers. Always overinflated by them, but in 3rd round it's an excellent pick.

Cannon was another guy who also had mono right? And I see his birthday is tomorrow. Nice birthday present for the kid.

Sox cornering the mono market

He is going to have fun at Coors.

Next position picked? Left handed college OF?

Feels like a very different draft from Cleveland

For no other reason that it’s a pitcher from state of Georgia and someone who dropped during the season, I’m going to throw a Chris Beck comparison

Usually people on this board aren't a fan of high floor lower stuff pitchers.

I like the control pitchers.

wow have a damn draft Oswego East

Wow Izzi in the 4th for Seattle

Seattle takes Ashton Izzi.  Noah Schultz teammate.  I couldn't be more out.  Power arm with zero feel to pitch.

He was not good in the game you and I were at against Oswego

He's was hardly ever good.  Fastball gets hit by bad high school teams.

Jordan Sprinkle
UC Santa Barbara SS
Notes:
HT: 5-10 | Wt: 170 | B-T: R-R
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.3
BA Grade: 40/High
Tools: Hit: 30. Power: 45. Run: 60. Field: 60. Arm: 55.

Sprinkle came into the year with a chance to be one of the first shortstops taken in the 2022 draft. But the third-year sophomore struggled to hit with the same approach, power and confidence he had shown in 2021. He began the year as the Gauchos’ leadoff hitter, slid to the No. 2 spot before long, but then was buried, batting ninth by the end of the season. Sprinkle seemed to be guessing, and guessing wrong, a lot during his midseason struggles and his swing lost its fluidity. Scouts have seen above-average raw power from him, but he didn’t hit the ball with any authority this year. He hit .285/.381/.416, which was a big dip from the .353/.402/.536 he hit in 2021. Sprinkle is a true shortstop with the hands, actions and range to be a plus defender and an above-average arm. That ability to play shortstop will likely induce a team to give him a shot to refind his swing in pro ball.
