Why is Sheets even in the equation? 

Vaughn is in his age 25 season, like Burger can start well against all pitching, and is outperforming Sheets at every component of the slash line.

If Vaughn and Burger are healthy, they should be playing regularly.

Sheets .237/.311/.412 .723 OPS - Platooning

 

Over a week ago I noticed that Vaughn had 39 RBIs...nearly 40 - and thought, "That's pretty good"...He still has 39! Sox hitters are streaky.  They'll get hot for a stretch, and then nothing.  Great players are more consistent...

Probably nothing will be mentioned until later in the day, closer to game time, if then.

Anyone think he didn’t feel like running on what he perceived as a routine double play ball, and then when it was thrown away, he had to fake it? I’m not saying that by the way. I say it was a cramp and he plays tonight.
