Moncada had his first XBH since early June tonight. He actuallly had two.

Also, he looks like he has his eye at the plate back because he's actually been taking walks again.

Not to say that any of it matters, but I guess a good sign? They're paying him $29M next year anyway so hopefully he can recover enough to be tradeable next year.

No complaints. Nice win. I'm sure the fans who attended finally had a helluva good time. Lot of clutch hits, etc. Clevinger is pretty good.

Besides the White Sox, what are they other three teams the Yankees haven't faced in the post season?

2 NL  1 AL

American League - Toronto Blue Jays

National League - Colorado Rockies and Montreal Expos and where they kidnapped.

Shaw went 2IP with 4ks while getting the save Monday so that may have earned him the spot. Of course Santos may be put back out there regardless.

As the great Meatloaf would say, 2 outta 3 ain't bad. I'm just sorry I was at the bad one.

When Grifol was asked if Shaw was the new closer over Santos

His response was

"Let me sleep on it, baby baby let me sleep on it.

Let me sleep on it, I'll give you an answer in the morning."

Of course Robert got hurt being aggressive

Aggressive is a nice description for stealing third with two outs.  It used to be called a dumbass play.  Still is as far as I'm concerned.  Only purpose it served tonight was to pad stats.  And injure Luis, of course.

NYY feels like they've left 127 men on base in this series, they have been Sox-esque with RISP.

They have looked like White Sox East in this series.

In one key way they are.

If you look at the teams that thought they were great this year and aren’t, the common thread is always a lack of contributions from their minor league system. If you look at the top teams, they are consistently getting help from their drafts and signings.

You can paper over this somewhat with the right trade or signing, the Yankees kept themselves from being in a hole last year thanks to Judge. But, if you want to be a team over .500, there is no other functioning option.
