This team is bad - offense will be better than it has been but the pitching staff is horrendous. With that said - I think by trade deadline they will at least be interesting to watch as we hopefully see some of their younger pitching prospects and a few more quality positional prospects graduate to the show. I still think we are talking about 29 at the absolute soonest at competing for a wild card and that is a huge squint and hope for a Ishibia injection.

The minor league system is at least promising and there are a number of recent picks who are at least not already worthless which is something…we shall see - hopefully we seee growth from The young / newer guys on MLb roster and a lot of good development and progress in minors.

But If everything goes well I think we will have Thorpe, Schultz, Smith and McDougall in the rotation in 2nd half of the year and that is a heck of a lot more interesting than anything they have right now…

Watched a lot of Taj Bradley throwing 97-100 his first two games out.

Great pick up by Twins. With Ryan (for now) and Ober, they are just head and shoulders ahead of the Sox.

Same with young CLE pitching and obviously DET until Skubal departs.

I've been thinking about this myself and I'd keep those guys in the minors through the rest of the season.

Why start their service clock for another lost season?

And what really are they going to learn being in an environment where losing is the norm and the team is basically composed of a number of has-been's, stiffs and retreads?

Anything can happen over the winter, you never know Ishbia may be taking over, but over and above this, with the distinct probability of a lockout/shutdown extending into the regular season in 2027, again why bring these guys up, only have them have to sit out part or all of next year? They need experience and the minor leagues at least can keep giving them that in the event a portion or large portion of 2027 is lost. If they play some next year you can bring them up then.

Until then, play it safe, keep then in the minor leagues.

As long as they are up after April 14th there is no lost service time

Guess you can compare it to the Braves when Avery Smoltz Glavine first came up....they took their lumps big time for ax season or two.

Some might argue if a pitcher can survive Charlotte in one piece...they should be ready for the big leagues.

That's also a description of Charlotte. The avg age of those players are about 26.

Birmingham is the one that has a winning environment.

But I think it's about those guys having more success before calling them up,

Hopefully the Sox blueprint isn't calling guys up and have them sit the bench. We've seen that before.
