That sounds like the makings of Miami fighting to get in/getting hot at the right time and riding it deep into the playoffs. Conversely, it has the makings of the Cubs backing into the playoffs and getting bounced quickly. Edited September 22, 20232 yr by Milkman delivers
September 22, 20232 yr Marlins are very short on pitching these days. Really awful effort tonight vs Brewers.
September 22, 20232 yr Getting crushed. But Braves and Brewers don't have exactly have the look of teams coasting down the stretch either.

September 24, 20232 yr Author All four teams won. Just a matter of seeding. Looking like Phillies, Cubs, Diamondbacks (and Brewers) playing best of threes to get to Atlanta and LA. Need the Marlins to go 5-1 at Mets and Pirates Edited September 24, 20232 yr by flavum

September 27, 20232 yr Braves pitching depth is totally shot. They only have two guys they can count on now.
September 27, 20232 yr how about the cubs blowing a 6-0 lead. 2 run, 2 out error lol Edited September 27, 20232 yr by nrockway
September 27, 20232 yr Marlins 1/2 game back behind the Cubs with six games left to play....going to have to play a DH one of these next two days, and Marlins have already lost Alcantara for the season already. Battle of the 80's Superstation Teams continues. ATL already at 101 wins.
September 27, 20232 yr Shades of Brant Brown with Suzuki misplay. Or Grady Sizemore late 2005 against the Royals that Sunday before the final week of the season that crushed the Indians/Guardians.

Sizemore's hit him in the thigh. Lost it in the sun cuz the weather god was on our side. Hurricane Rita veered east and the sun came out in KC that day. Remember the radio call? BIG VOICE: BRANT BROWNNNN ... DROPS THE BALL! little voice Oh no! BIG VOICE: HE DROPS THE BALL. little voice: noooooooooooo! Just remembered. Cubs made the playoffs that year.

Only team with solid pitching in the NL right now is the Brewers who do not matchup well with the cubs. Clevenger would have been a great get for any NL team.

September 27, 20232 yr DH today is going to kill the Marlins' pitching staff down the stretch. Going to have to hope for a split and Cubs' loss for a time with three to go. Already down 2-0 on an Alonso bomb.

September 27, 20232 yr Mets put up 11 runs on the Marlins in the first game, now Johnny Cueto will face off against Kodai Senga. I feel like San Diego is gonna take the final spot at this point.
