Hah, Chicagoans take it for granted.  They are all around here and throughout Illinois.

There are a couple places with better than average Chicago style food. The best one sadly is Wrigleville and has a ton of Cub s%*# on the walls. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood it's a must stop.

I’m pretty close to Johnnie’s Beef, Gene & Jude’s, and Frannie’s Beef & Catering so plenty of beef and hot dog options around outside of Portillo’s.

Not in San Antonio. I have to search a bit.

For the first time in a decade or so I'm getting home delivery of an actual newspaper. I forgot how much I enjoy the Sunday NY Times. Digital just isn't the same experience.

There isn't going to be an open convention. Kamala is going to get annointed the candidate by the big $$$ DNC kingmakers.

You were right. I won't get political, but I wonder who would be the next president had they done it the normal way, by nominating a candidate and having a convention. Or I wonder if KH would have won had she named the Penn. governor Shapiro her running mate instead of the other guy.

The economy inflation and anti-woke movement were going to be intractable foes for virtually any Democrat.

Not even sure Michelle Obama would have won with the political headwinds.

You literally got political.  Great work.

It depends how you look at it. What I think he was really saying is..... I wonder if the rebuild would have worked if the Sox did things the normal way by drafting better players and spending money wisely in free agency. Or I wonder if RH would still be around if he would have named the Detroit coach as the manager instead of the other guy.

I read thru the thread and saw the prediction by the poster came true and made a comment. It didn't put on blast any party or candidate thus I thought it would be OK to go there.

I could tell you, but then I would have to run you through a democratically elected board of Trustees who decides what is allowable and what must be escalated to another board who then decides what to elevate to the status of needing further review.

Just kidding.   We'd kill you.

Mrs. Wegner voted for this 1st option.....so I am currently trying to evaluate why she is so mad at me at the moment.

Soxtalk is an exceptional site, free for we posers, I mean posters, but we never have a Merry Christmas thread.

So I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. In honor of the holiday tell me 3 things you like/love about Chicago (not suburbia). It can be something from the past involving the Windy City too ...

a.) Old Comiskey Park. It was a thrill to be in there every time I went except maybe when they had the astroturf infield and grass outfield. Weird.

b.) Italian beef with soggy bun. It really is delicious. However as I age, it ruffles my stomach as do delightful White Castle burgers.

c.) Christmas decorations on the southside. People come through every year and decorate their houses. True Chicagoans are special people. Hail to Mt. Greenwood. I miss you and wish u a Merry Christmas and thank u to soxtalk owners for this forum. Peace out.

p.s. Did you watch Wonderful Life this year again? I did but picked it up halfway thru.

With all dude respect, what the actual f*** are you blathering on about?  There is one literally from yesterday, right on the front of the main board.  One of those pops up just about every year.
