You’d have to get Holiday

Orioles’ fans are going to argue 7 years of Holliday is more valuable than 6 of Robert and Cease…

Or sooner. If he puts up a monster 1st half this year, I'd be looking to trade him at the deadline. Can't screw around and wait for more injuries. A high performance healthy 1st half would mean h

The orioles fans are detached from reality.

why is everyone saying 2 years? the sox have him for 4 (they own the club options). if he is healthy, he will play out the contract and Boras will get him a huge bag. that ALWAYS was going to be the deal with him based on health. There is zero reason to trade him now unless they trade Cease and anyone else with a slice of value. like it or not....they need to sell SOME tickets and he is going to be the driver of that until his contract is up.

I think it’s very likely he’s traded next off-season assuming there is a team that can and is willing to trade a ton for him.

Luis Robert for team captain/player manager/language coach/Pete Rose-Dale Carnegie award winner.

Would actually prefer a news blackout for spring training.

Just don't ask him what the name is of any coaches.

They don't REALLY need to sell tickets with revenue sharing and broadcasting revenue. I say burn it all down. Strip it down to the studs and build from scratch.

That is to say, if you can get appropriate value for Robert (it would have to be a MONSTER haul), I'd trade him in a heartbeat.

Correct. Those deals are already signed and the money is already in the bank earning interest I might ad.

That revenue for now won't change regardless if the Sox win 100 games or lose 100 games.

However with the NBC Sports Chicago deal expiring after this year, you'd think the Sox would want to show progress in order to get the best new TV deal possible for the Chicago-area.

From Paul Sullivan's column today of what Chicago sports fans have to look forward to until the Bears season opener next September:

Vanishing White Sox fans

The biggest difference between the Blackhawks and the White Sox is Hawks fans will come out to watch an awful team if they have someone like Bedard to focus on. The Sox have no such player on the current roster, and the minimal spending this offseason by general manager Chris Getz suggests they don’t intend to obtain one any time soon.

Top prospect Colson Montgomery is considered the next big thing, but the Sox don’t want to rush the shortstop, even on a rebuilding team that could use a gate attraction. Luis Robert Jr. is a superstar in the making, but he’s not good enough yet to convince Sox fans to buy tickets just to watch him play on a losing team.

In short, it could be a lonely season in the bleachers at Sox Park, which at least would make it more difficult to get hit by a wayward bullet. By August the Sox could be playing out the string and Pedro Grifol could be on the hot seat.

I really like him so I hope they trade him to a contender.
