White Sox will pay Kevin Kiermaier not to retire so he can be their CFer next year at a bargain rack price.

But imagine what kind of prospect we'll get for Tim Hill Steven Wilson!

Pillar and Cronin two of the worst off the radar moves.

Reylo pulled from his start early with forearm soreness:

Tommy Pham hit a pinch-hit Grand Salami for Cards.  Didn't take long.

Gregory Santos, injured again.  This dude is cursed.  Too bad the trade return for him looks like crap now.

Ugh, Fedde getting rocked.

Nice to see Burger lighting it up

Cease left after 1 inning.

Rain delay…

Burger up to 737 ops, 20th homer.

Burger has most homers in baseball since 7/2

Kopech got a win last night. 5 appearances with the Dodgers, 5 1/3 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 8 Ks.

“Michael Kopech fired 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Saturday against the Pirates.

Kopech has looked re-energized since arriving in Los Angeles at last month’s trade deadline, reeling off five consecutive scoreless appearances in his Dodgers debut. He’s struck out eight batters and allowed just one baserunner over 5 1/3 nearly-flawless frames so far. The 28-year-old righty is probably in the mix for high-leverage opportunities with the Dodgers until further notice.”

Or he is finally listening to coaching

Wasn't he pretty good in his last handful of outings here, too?

“Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored in a win over the Padres on Sunday.

Burger now has 22 home runs and 53 RBI on the season and has been on a tear since July 1st, clubbing 14 home runs and driving in 24 runs in 33 games. He’s also 16-for-44 (.363) with seven home runs in just 11 games in August. He needs to be rostered in all leagues while his bat is this hot.”

He has completely improved his season numbers after slumping hard to start the season.

.251 AVG

.768 OPS

22 HR

53 RBI

Yes.  Kopech had 5.2 scoreless innings pitched with 8 strikeouts and only 1 hit and 1 BB allowed before he was traded to the Dodgers.

29. Marlins (previously: 29)
Season high: 23 | Season low: 30
Jake Burger had 10 homers in 72 games before the All-Star break. With another homer on Sunday, he now has 12 in the 22 games since the All-Star break. Since the ASG, he has roughly the same OPS that Ted Williams had his entire career. Keep this up for the next 15 years, Jake, heck, you’ll be in the Hall of Fame!
