If this isn't a joke, I certainly hope you're healing well.

Oh. I meant I was getting tattooed lol. Working on my leg sleeve. I fly back to Chicago one a month for an 8 to 10 hour sitting.

I appreciate the concern though.

  • July draft sucks. Wastes a lot of developement time.

  • Also - f*** these new rules.

  • Walker was the Sox first pick (Comp round overall 47) who was a huge surprise when selected from a Utah CC. Literally no one thought he was a first rounder but Kenny saw him play one game and came awa

I’m fine with Arnold also, but would he be overslot?

I don't see why....if he drops, he drops..  The drop wouldn't be for signability reasons.   It's a massive risk to wait a year . a lot more to lose than to gain.

Of course I didn't understand why we  paid Smith overslot last year....he would have had to be mad not to sign for slot.

Joe Doyle posted his final mock. Subscriber only.

https://futurestarsseries.com/mlb-draft-arquette-holliday-angels-arnold-willits-nationals/

1.) Nationals - Kade Anderson (Notes that a high contingent of high level scouts think Willits will be the pick.)

2.) Angels - Eli Willits

3.) Mariners - Seth Hernandez

4.) Rockies - Ethan Holliday

5.) Cardinals - Ike Irish

6.) Pirates - Aiva Arquette

7.) Marlins - JoJo Parker (Says one of Willits/Parker/Carlson will be the pick here)

8.) Jays - Billy Carlson

9.) Reds - Jamie Arnold (Also would be interested Doyle.)

10.) White Sox -Steele Hall

I think the White Sox are trying to find a way to save a little money here and go big-game hunting at pick 44. They’ve been connected heavily to Carlson and Hall over the course of the last few days.

Hall over Doyle would be gross

If Hall comes underslot, then fine.  They want a SS, and he's a SS.  And that's fewer picks they will have to throw away to pay for the overslots.

The end is near. This has been a great thread, and those of you who were regular contributors are really good.  Thanks very much.

Would prefer to be wrong but my guess for today is Hall. Here’s to praying Parker or Carlson slides to us.

Final Baseball America in case it hasn’t been posted already:

  1. WAS - Kade Anderson, LHP (LSU)
  2. LAA - Liam Doyle, LHP (Tennessee)
  3. SEA - Seth Hernandez, RHP (Corona HS)
  4. COL - Ethan Holiday, SS (Stillwater HS)
  5. STL - Eli Willits, SS (Ford Cobb-Brockton HS)
  6. PIT - Aiva Arquette, SS (Oregon St)
  7. MIA - Ike Irish, C / OF (Auburn)
  8. TOR - JoJo Parker, SS (Purvis HS)
  9. CIN - Jamie Arnold, LHP (Florida St)
  10. CHW - Billy Carlson, SS (Corona HS)

Why He’s The Pick: In our previous mock I mentioned thinking that the White Sox coveted Carlson but didn’t have him falling to them. This time he does and would make a lot of sense as the name called. If both Arnold and Carlson were available here I’m not sure which direction they would lean.

What They Are Getting: Carlson is the slickest defender in the class and has a chance to provide Gold Glove caliber defense. As a hitter he has a strong foundation of bat-to-ball skills.

Other Names We’re Hearing: JoJo Parker, SS, Purvis (Miss.) HS; Jamie Arnold, LHP, Florida State; Kyson Witherspoon, RHP, Oklahoma; Tyler Bremner, RHP, UC Santa Barbara; Kayson Cunningham, SS, Johnson HS, San Antonio; Gavin Kilen, 2B, Tennessee; Jace LaViolette, OF, Texas A&M

Dart Throw Names For Later Rounds: Patrick Forbes, RHP, Louisville; Michael Lombardi, RHP, Tulane; Landon Hodge, C, Crespi Carmelite HS, Los Angeles; Mason Greenhouse, OF, Aquinas HS, San Bernardino, Calif.

Time to start a 2026 one soon. Hoping for the #1 pick. Roch or LeBron.

I made an official draft day thread if we want to close this and gravitate over there at some point today and start fresh.

Only hitting .365 in high school as an old senior to me is a huge red flag. 19 years

old in a few weeks. that translates to
Mendoza line numbers at Kannapolis.

Billy Carlson is probably the pick I would've wanted (sans Kruz Schoolschaft with his 8000 grade name), are we pleased with this? Love that they took a glove-first high schooler. Probably regret not taking Konnor Griffin.
