Yes. A chosen screengrab of a 15 minute press conference can tell you that.

I didn’t need the screen grab to say that.  History has proven my comments. Take a look at Sox managers over the past 20 years.

Dude is grabbing the money while he can.  This terrible franchise and team will sink his career.

I like the cut of his jib. i’m cautiously optimistic he won’t be a complete buffoon.

Venable knows this is his first and last managerial gig.  I bet he massively bumped up his retirement funding right after he signed the contract.

$14,537,000 Career earnings, plus lifetime MLB pension

I'm sure he's doing quite well if he invested his money wisely...

Crazy that such a mediocre player made so much money in his career.

Good experience as MLB player and coach with winning organizations, contrary to Grifol.  Very good hire IMO.

Crazy that such incompetent owners made so much money owning the Sox.

Dayton Moore's comparison points...Bruce Bochy, Ned Yost, Bobby Cox. I think there's a theme here.

Two Hall of Famers and one who will at least get Veterans Committee consideration but come up short.
