Capping front office spending i.e. analytics dept absolutely should be in the next cba and I think it will be addressed.

MLB teams are not sharing their fiscal information with other teams regarding this so in theory it is a an idea in reality it is unenforceable and simple to work around.

Shockingly, Roll Tide has already turned on his manager and GM over at Birds Hangout.

No …we have tons of issues. I refuse to believe that a managerial change will fix this mess. And I don’t think Hyde is the main reason. I’m okay firing Hyde as long as Big Mike goes with him.

"The biggest long-term concern to me is that too many young hitters have regressed, especially Kjerstad, Rutschman and Westburg. Even if Hyde keeps his job, they need to fire the hitting coaches. "

So now they want Asche gone after Fuller last year.  Hahaha.

Given Elias’ astute, deliberate construction of a farm system that was the top-ranked in baseball for years, he earned a bit of credibility even among the impatient folks. But, with the underwhelming performances of the starting rotation, the former top prospects and the entire lineup when a left-handed pitcher is on the mound, it’s clear the popular opinion of Baltimore’s tepid offseason was the right one.

While acknowledging that the Orioles’ many injuries put this ugly performance in the realm of “extreme outcomes” as Elias put it, it would have also been extreme if this conservative approach put Baltimore back in the World Series. The ceiling for this roster (especially its pitching) always felt low, and clearly the floor has fallen, too.

It’s good to see Elias, at least in a small way, owning that he’s made mistakes. But that’s only the first step.

O's turn 14 hits into just 3 runs (15 LOB) and a blown save for their 4th loss in a row.

15-28 record, worst run diff in the AL and second worst in the league after the Rockies

Blown in the 8th...then Bautista gave up the go ahead in the 9th to break a 3-3 tie.

Mark Cuban is best known for turning around the fortunes of the Dallas Mavericks from worst to first, after he bought the team in 2000. After selling his majority stake in 2023 to Miriam Adelson, Cuban announced Thursday his return to a big play in the sports industry: a $750 million private equity fund looking at minority stakes in NBA, NFL and MLB franchises that may be undervalued.

Orioles getting crushed again by the Nationals. Eflin has given up 4 HR in 2 innings. O’s fans must be freaking out.

They're approaching the 2005 Astros' record at a similar point in their schedule.

Only a couple of teams have ever made it back from this point to postseason success in the history of the game.

"ESPN and Major League Baseball have not returned to the negotiating table since the network opted out of its current deal in February, according to John Ourand of Puck. While ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro has consistently expressed a desire to resume talks, there has been little if any indication of reciprocal interest by MLB.

According to Ourand, Pitaro recently told reporters his assumption is that MLB is “out there testing the market, which is their right to do.”

Upon announcing ESPN’s opt-out in February, Manfred said he hoped to have “at least two potential options” to replace ESPN “over the next few weeks.” In the three months since, signs of progress have been scarce."

Now, if only the White Sox had a closer to offer them...but alas, don't think they will accept Booser.

That said, maybe they could get something fairly decent for a 33 year old reliever.  At least better than what the White Sox gave up to acquire him.

Doug Mansolino's son Tony named the new interim manager of the ORIOLES...

Doug joined the Chicago White Sox organization from 1988 to 1996, where he had various posts including Director of Instruction (1988-1990), minor league defensive coordinator (1991), first base coach for the major league team from 1992 to 1995, and third base coach starting on June 2nd in 1995 and also in 1996.

Juan Soto is “glum” around the Mets’ clubhouse and he wanted to return to the Yankees last offseason before signing a historic 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets, Yanks’ broadcaster Michael Kay claimed on his radio show on Monday.

Soto has faced intense scrutiny after his less-than-stellar return to The Bronx over the weekend, which has included knocks on how hard he runs after hits to his apparent happiness in Queens.

Kay prefaced his comments on his show – “The Michael Kay Show” –  by saying that he had spoken to people involved with the Yankees and the Mets, and he had arrived at 8 a.m. before Saturday’s game, and “really talked for hours with people.”

“People that I talked to on the Mets side, and they can deny it publicly, because, of course, that’s what they have to do, he is very, very glum around the clubhouse,” Kay said, according to Awful Announcing. “He does not have a hop in his step. He does not smile much. I’m not gonna say he is unhappy. Because how can you be unhappy with a $765 million contract? But money is not a guarantee that you are gonna be comfortable somewhere.”
