Burke and Iriarte today.. 4.1 IP - 12 baserunners - Luckily on 3 runs, somehow.

If Iriarte is going to be very good, unless he learns to throw strikes, it will be with the Chicago Dogs.

  • Couldn’t disagree more, as you could still trade Cease for more than what the Sox got.

    Gallo is very washed.

Iriarte will go down to Charlotte and do just fine. He'll probably have a locker right next to Burke.

But both of them will be very good pitchers in the future.

Iriarte back. 92 mph.

Braden Montgomery late break circus catch in RF.

1-2-3 inning for Iriarte.

4-3 Sox still.

Guys like Iriarte always do better in the minors because those guys aren't as disciplined as major leaguer hitters.  They expand their zones less and less at each level, until it tops out with the best at the top.  It is quite literally the point.

Colas at first.

Tie game...Ellard getting dinked and dunked to death.

Bummer-esque.

Liptak....another 7th inning lead evaporates.

First four batters reach hbp.

3159 in attendance.

Weird that Camelback Ranch seats don't have cup holders except box seats.

A's announcers" observation.

Really for a 23 year old on his 2nd ST appearance. That trade is looking just fine.

Actually, I think he will solve this and turn out to be a very good pitcher for the Sox. (Just not today or anytime too soon.)

And being only 23-years-old makes Iriarte more valuable than Dylan Cease or anybody over 28.

Can u imagine how happy we'll be if the Sox go 7-7 the first two weeks and let the world know they are a .500 club?

Nishida can't stop grounder.

5-4 still bases loaded.

Or 3-22 again...

2-3 double play, don't see that every day

Unless Ishbia actually authorized a FA deal lol.

Iriarte not worth much if he puts on two base runners per inning.

93-94 pretty pedestrian FB these days for a starter.

Early in the year it could be a matter of luck more than anything. Wat if the Sox get lucky and we are at 7-7 with Robert hitting .420 with six early homers?

Brandon Drury is making this team and I'm completely down for that.

Fun fact, if his 2024 was on the White Sox he would have been the worst player on the team by a large margin.

-2.0 bWAR, next closest would have been Maldonado at -1.3

Can Murfee break 90?

ruiz 70 stolen base guy with no starting spot...Bleday Rooker Butler strong OF.

Colas can't handle throw from Lipcius lol.

Bounced throw.

1st and 3rd.

Murfee gets out of it with a K and ground to 3B that Colas had to corral at first with some footwork.

Otoh 2022-23 the best hitter...works both ways.

You going to bet your house on it?

Braden Montgomery K's on an off speed pitch.
