Read somewhere that in at least one game it was Wolkow, Montogomery, Zavala. Sox have 5 legit OF prospects (including Saucke and McLain). All 5 of them should start the year at W-S. I am not high on Saucke (or Veras, obviously) but three of the other 4 could move quickly. Personally, I'd give Wolkow another half season at Kanny, and rotate McLain, Zavala, and Montgomery through all the outfield spots, but I'm not on the back fields, so who knows? Wolkow only has half a season in Low A, he should start the year in Kanny and work on his pitch recognition & swing decisions. If he does well, promote him around middle of the season whenever Braden likely get the bump to AA. Hahn definitely kickstarted the second rebuild in 2023 by trading Lopez, Giolito, Lynn, Kelly, Graveman, Middleton, and Burger. The owner let the existing regime, which included Getz, make all the trades at the 2023 deadline while knowing he was going to fire both Kenny and Hahn and promote Getz from assistant GM to GM. Remember, Reinsdorf said he didn’t even interview anyone else but Getz for the GM job. It was most definitely the start of the second rebuild. Of course he bears some responsibility for the farm system and roster, unless he was sitting around doing nothing in his roles and just collecting a paycheck. Five years at JR's current age just sounds too slow developing to wait out. Plus the stadium issue is at least somewhat tied to the Sox being at least competitive as an organization. It ultimately failed and he was rightly fired. Same thing applies to Getz. Everyone gets a chance. If it doesn't work they get fired. Nearly everyone wanted three years or no AB signing at all. But it's somehow now even more appropriate the biggest signing in team history would be the most inconsequential or under the radar in the overall scheme of MLB.
