It’s ruthless to cut a NRI who got injured and who would have required us to DFA another player to make room on the 40 man roster?

  • JR thinks a whole roster of cast-offs will be ultra-entaining for the fans to watch.  Pathetic!

  • To start the year, I agree. Once they have Keel, quero and Montgomery up it will be more interesting at least. I think the pitching will be better overall.

Huh? I know he’s out for a month or two, but Drury was their best player in Spring. Not surprised with Varland. He hasn’t looked great.

Lol goodbye their best offensive player of the spring...at least they saved some money, or did they?

Surprised Gilbert made it this far...

That's super unfortunate. They must think he is pretty worthless to them in two months so why keep him around?

Every day, our roster seemingly gets worse.

They gave up an actual player for Gilbert. They must value him.

Our savior is gone!  🤣

Cutting the dude after he fractured his thumb?  Pretty ruthless…

Acquire old veterans and then be shocked they don’t hold up.  Not often you see a team struggle to even find 3 guys to play the outfield.

Didn’t Drury get hurt in a random collision?  Not sure age has anything to do with this.

The last rebuild had all of their young guys hurt all of the time, so it was time to switch it up.

He did. He was playing first base and a wild throw caused him to have to go up the line into the basepath of a runner and they collided.

Yeah but not we have Tauchman hurt as well.  The last ten days or so, it’s been bad news after bad news.

Hopefully there is an OFer they can grab off waivers as guys get cut.

The Drury thing makes no sense to me unless 1) his hand is completely toast or 2) this is just a procedural move and they will bring him back on a new contract. Because cutting the best hitter in the spring for what shouldn’t be a long term injury makes no sense to me otherwise.

Oh I didnt catch the Tauchman news…how long is he out for?

Sounds like none of Drury, Tauchman or Rojas will be ready for opening day. Find me 13 position players.

Drury is staying with the Sox?

No idea. Guessing he’s out for a couple months. Just meant that it’s 3 players who were penciled into opening day.
