MLB Pipeline lists nine players in the Mets’ top 30 who can play outfield, from Jett Williams (No. 2) and Ryan Clifford (No. 4), whose primary positions are in the infield, to Drew Gilbert (No. 10) and speedster Nick Morabito (No. 17). None of those players are ready now.

Many here think I’m only negative with Robert but if you put yourself in another team’s shoes what’s there to like with this profile? If you can somehow revert him back to his 2023 form sure it’s worth the risk but how many contenders are looking for an oft-injured, underperforming reclamation project that’s being compensated handsomely over the next 2.5 seasons (if they even pick up the options)? I’m sure they’d take him but they aren’t giving up much in return imo.

My only point is the Sox will be lucky to get players of the same caliber in return as Acuna and Baty but maybe they’ll get lucky.

A lot of teams have to be better that their internal support and staff is way better than what the White Sox have got, and it looks like teams are out there strongly looking at bringing Robert in. We keep talking about $15 million, but when the top of the line guys are getting $50 million plus a year, having three years locked down for that per annum may well appeal to someone who thinks they can reach him. It's not a lot to the type of crowd who could really use a Robert. The Mets sneeze away $15 million for nothing.

If he had really come in and seen a LONG rebuild in place, not trading Luis the winter of 23/24 was his worst piece of negligence to this date.

That's where we are now because Getz didn't sell at his peak.

There was zero reason to not deal him after 2023 especially when you know you are about to nuke your roster and start from ground zero. There is no reason to continue to roster a superstar caliber player on a 110+ loss team for several seasons. All I can remember about this was the handful of posters who were adamant that you couldn't trade him because he had 3+ years of control and was so valuable you would never get what he's worth. Well, that worked out great didn't it.
May 14, 2025May 14 Robert's base stealing has improved dramatically, although that may be in part due to the Sox having him steal more. Imagine if he could get hit like he did in 2023. His OBP is okay, considering his low BA, and he's certainly taking more walks this year. I just don't know what's wrong with his hitting.

The swing data and defense/speed metrics looks good, so teams these days are so high tech they wont be bothered by the lack of production. last year Fedde was production and Kikuchi was data, and we saw what won. On top of that Robert is a position player. Those dont become available. So i could see a (low) Top 100 prospect coming this way. Once there are a few bidders.
