And that's a 9-4 White Sox winner!

Love getting a win going into an off day. Should have won 2 of 3. Didn’t look outclassed at all.

We had a very competitive series. Nice to see. Blew some games but we're a bad team. If we are going to be bad at least be competitive most of the time until the inevitable error or bad pitching performance late.

I was hoping for 1 win in NY so no tears, now on to Baltimore where I’d like to win at least 2.

Plesac brought up how competitive the team has been, did some homework and they are 8-10 since the KC series and we could have easily won 3 games in that series. I still think they will win at least 65 games.

Nice looking boxscore by the bullpen today

They did a good job, helped by a Mets team that looked ready to get this one over with.

Vargas up to a 118 wRC+ and into the top 60 or so in fWAR in MLB. He's only .1 fWAR behind Ely De La Cruz. Funny game, baseball.

When is the last time Sox batters had 18 walks in a 3 game set? They saw almost 200 pitches in this game.

Legitimately like two swings away from a series win here, and maybe 1 more away from a sweep.

Former Mets Houser and Vasil combined for 9 scoreless innings in the series. Holding Soto hitless is pretty impressive for this staff overall.

We outplayed them. They led for what, 2 innings the entire series?

They would have to go 47-59 to hit 65 wins, I would welcome that!

I agree the club is more competitive, keep it going.

106 left we'd need to win 47 to get to 65. So quick maths that's almost a 45 percent winning rate. Not happening, but I'll give you we won't break our own record or come close to the Rockies. I'll go with we win 58. Which would be enough to give Getz a passing grade imo.

that's where we are at. cue alonzo_mourning.gif

Beni is hitterish. He makes a difference in the lineup. Some opposing GM could steal a very good ballplayer. He's our all star pick right now folks. He might even get an at bat in the game.

he's a 1.5 WAR vet on a 3 WAR vet contract -- we'll be lucky to get a warm body in A ball and a semi prospect in AA. That said, I hope he gets hotter than s%*#.

Did you watch his 3 hits today? He's raking. He's now my favorite Sox player.

Glad to see someone with a sense of reality.  He mostly plays DH and it not DH material.

Unfortunately he makes too much Sox many and they'd gladly take a warm body in A ball and a semi prospect in AA just to keep their cheapass small market habitually losing reputation.

When Vaughn comes back Beni will probably go back to left field and Vargas to 3rd.

It was one nice day at the plate.  He's been way too inconsistent and injured to believe that he's going to take off and be a great trade piece.  Now, if he can stay healthy and keep hitting, the Sox may be able to get a bag of good baseballs and a coupon for free nachos from a team willing to take on his contract.  That would be a win.

He keeps it up, Jerry might even get his contract paid for, return be damned. (no he shouldn't, but we all know better)
