Yep. He's not on the 40-man but there should be a spot open.

He has the perfect name for a closer.

"ABMR - Always Be Middle Relieving" doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same.

Castro has looked interesting, like he has some tools. I figured he was way younger, but turns out he's 30 and has nearly 500 IP under his belt. Weird guy to trade bonus money for, you'd think you'd rather have a talented 16-year-old in the system.

Also, maybe it's been discussed, but was this bonus money from the previous the previous cycle (Sasaki, our own Alejandro Cruz, etc) or the upcoming one? If the previous, can Houston be expected to actually use that money?

But of course...it's the White Sox way. Trade bonus money for another old retread then be surprised he gets hurt.

Except it's actually Coffey.

it's also Adisyn and not Addison...the more ya know. that trade might've worked out better for the Sox if it had been for Jymes Shylds.

He stepped very awkwardly finding the bag at 1st base while covering. But don’t let that stop your narrative.

Luis Rodriguez off to a hot start

Last year, the Astros acquired pitcher Luis Rodriguez in a trade that sent Corey Julks to Chicago. Since the trade, Rodriguez has been nearly unhittable. In six outings this season, the right-hander has a 1.33 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 27 innings.

Rodriguez, who made his full-season debut last year at 18-years-old, turned in his best professional outing on Thursday. The right-hander tossed 5 no-hit innings while racking up 8 strikeouts. He also generated 15 swings and misses in that outing.

The Houston Astros have signed another international prospect, inking infielder Sami Manzueta for a bonus of $850,000. Manzueta is an 16-year-old infielder from Venezuela with Dominican roots. (This was announced on May 7th, nine days before the Miguel Castro trade of $500,000 in international pool money.)

The only money that can be traded is from current period. They had $543K left and traded $500K to Houston. They needed the cash for the player they signed a couple weeks back.

It won't. I assure you. 🙄 I know he stepped awkwardly. It's called fundamentals. But the Sox don't have much of those nor do they demand it apparently.

Okay, man. Yeah. No other players in the league get hurt hitting the bag awkwardly. I forgot it’s just Sox players.

Yea this was just a fluke, in wet conditions anything can happen.

Apparently,  it's over, at least for 2025.
