Meidroth isn't likely to be a 30-40 steals guy with that level of XB power like Whit in is prime.  We'll see.

He's adjusted well to his first mini slump.

And has played SS better than expected.

That's why the Sox didn't really want to bring him up. His MLB outlook is worse than most of the current players, and that's saying something with this group.

He'll only play there on a rotation of catcher/DH/1B when they want Quero catching.

It not like he will be the full time 1B.

Oh absolutely, but he truly had nothing left to prove in AAA.  It’s worth a shot, as the likelihood he’s playing in Japan in a year or so was always very high.
