what's the reason? closers are not typically guys that were, a few weeks ago, starting.

throwing 9 balls in a row sucks. put him out there again for 2 innings next time. it's an awesome decision to make. he's a rookie. they make mistakes under pressure. do the same thing again.

I am fine with 2 innings during a game but closing is just a different animal, you use the adrenaline to help. You get 3 outs and then you go sit down for 10 min, it kind of ruins that and makes it a lot tougher. Especially when it isn't something he is use to at this level.

This s%*# of rotating Quero and Teel everyday needs to stop.  One catches and the other DH's every single fucking day.  Get rid of Slater/Tauchman/Capra/Rojas and bring up a 3rd catcher.  For the love

I think it's fine. He pulled him at the right time. Learning moment.

Burke gets screwed.

shoulda turned two for sure though. Sosa too slow, Ohtani surprisingly fast. what can't that guy do

He had 50+ steals last year.

Sosa not a good defender...never has been.

Of course Ohtani steals when he absutelyhas to.

Yeah ultimately it doesn't matter but would rather Taylor have the success to go off of. If he is closer of the future, he won't be doing two inning saves very often.

Oh come on blue

A good throw might have got him.

oof. well good night and god bless.

Pathetic 9th inning all around.  Wilson sucks, one of the luckiest pitchers in baseball this year.

Just as it was designed by fate…

He had Smith struck out. Oh well. I don't think we would have won in extras either way.

If you are a bad team a 2 run lead doesn't work against the Dodgers.

You're probably right. I just think the guy is clearly the best pitcher out of the bullpen and has the stamina to do 2 innings since he is stretched out as a starter. He just really had a bad time. I don't think you expect that poor of a performance. Nerves maybe.

We probably would've won if the manager made a different choice, but I like the decision. I think try it out a few more times and see what happens. who cares if we win these games? I'm not mad they lost how they did. Score more runs next time.

Not pathetic but predictable

Taylor sitting too long was the crux tonight. Should've changed plans when that happened. Or just stop with the 2 inning saves. Unnecessary.

I’m not a big fan of using Taylor two innings if it comes with a pitch count.  Oh well, just another loss for this awful team.

Completely predictable...

How’s he stretched out?

What it is to be a Sox fan...

Disappointing.  Too bad for Taylor.  Wilson pitched well, but not lights out.  I am really starting to loathe Sosa.

As soon as TaYlor came out of the game the result was practically  guaranteed.

Guess he never really went more than three innings, but the expectation was that he's a starter and one might assume he's more prepared to throw multiple innings than he is to do one in the 9th inning.

Sosa is awful at 2nd…he needs to be their DH the rest of the way.

That was a strike on 99% of Mariano Rivera's pitches.

Bases loaded no outs you just don't escape that against the Dodgers on the road.
