Remember the two O’s fans that come to Soxtalk to do prospect clutching and being cheap over the Cease deal?

They legitimately had good offensive PROSPECT talent and refused to pay with anything for pitching.  They could have had cease and crochet and still had a good offense but instead kept their prospects like Linus keeps his blanket. Shocking they have a pitching staff 27th or worse in every category.  And half their prospects are hurt or regressed.

They spent minimal and they deserve what they got

And Kopech probably could have been thrown in with a minimum of whining on their part.

They say that drinking over the age of 60 is even more deleterious. Go figure. fixed. Thanks

28-34 avoids 100 losses.  A modest goal.

And after days like today, perhaps 35-27, which would get the Sox to 70 wins.

Am I crazy for thinking they can get something for Altavilla? Not expecting a ton obviously, but he has been good so far.

I think something like a Tanner Banks return would be the ceiling.  Edge of teams top 10 player, probably on the younger/unproven type.

Doesn’t know if they will be active?  lol…ok Josh.

To be fair, they don't have a lot.  Each top guy has a lack of history or bad recent history. Most of this years trade squad is "if you squint" type guys.

Yeah. Like they’ll get returns for most guys, but not getting much.

That doesn’t mean they won’t be moved.  I’d expect at least five players to be traded which would be a pretty active deadline.

Most of these guys are last day deals if your first four choices fall through.

Veneable likes Tauchman's leadership with all the young guys on the team. I would keep him around for next year.

2026 White Sox

1st Vargas

2nd Sosa

SS Meidroth

3rd Montgomery

C Q & Teel

LF Benny

Center Baldwin

Right starter ? ,  Tauchman reserve

DH ?

So you want to keep him just to bench him? Trade him now.

So you think they won’t be traded then?  Seems like you arguing we may not be all that active at the deadline.

I’d personally be shocked if Robert, Tauchman, Slater, Houser, & Wilson aren’t moved at minimum.  They are all useful players to a contender and all but Robert are dirt cheap.  And if they’re willing to eat some money on Robert, then there is no excuse not to move him either.

Honestly?  Yes, shocked if they all get moved.  I think much better players will hit the market.  I think Robert, maybe Tauchman and more pitching than we think.  I think Baltimore and other late selling will cause problems for these guys.

Seems like Tauchman should be worth a decent prospect.  The Astros, per Nightengale, have announced they want a LH bat.  Maybe the want someone with more power, but the Astros don't have a ton to trade to get one.   Tauchman's a good player.

Any pen veteran should be moved, but I think these will be the last second guys.   I don't see any bringing a Tanner Banks return.

At the beginning of the year, I expected the Sox to move one of the starters with control (Martin, e.g.).  Probably next year or perhaps December for that.

I tend to agree. Outside of Robert and Houser, I just don’t see the demand being very high.

If I were Vegas, I’d comfortably put the over/under at 5 players being moved.  We traded six players last year including the corpse of Eloy Jimenez.  To think no one would want Slater’s 140 wRC+ against LHP or Steven Wilson for bullpen is depth either undervaluing these guys because the Sox are terrible or somehow believe every other team has a flawless roster.  No one is suggesting we will get a ton for either of them, but I will be shocked if they are still on the roster come August 2nd.

Can't see them trading Robert if this recent surge is an indication of good things to come. It'd be a PR disaster. Sox aren't spending any money and are making big time bucks as a franchise so it doesn't hurt having one highly paid guy. Trading Robert will anger the casual fan.

I don't know why you laughed. The casual fan does not care about minor league players they've never heard of. They have heard of Robert and he's on a decent streak. He also plays a mean CF. He's a real ballplayer and casual fans don't like shipping 'name' players for minor leaguers they've never heard of.

The casual fan is not running the team.  Jerry is.  Do you really think Jerry is going to approve Getz picking up Robert’s $20 million dollar option for next season after he has had two down years in a row?  No, Robert is going the way of either Eloy or Moncada.  He will likely be moved before the trade deadline.  If somehow Robert is still on the Sox after the trade deadline, he will go the way of Moncada.  His buyout will be picked up as soon as it can be and he will become a free agent.  I mean, how can this even be in question for you?!?  Just look at history.
