Bad weather across NC, WS already postponed and Charlotte/Kanny both in a delay.

Nice....this is a huge jump for him and the first few days have reflected that but hopefully he can start to adjust a little bit in the next few weeks.

Crazy that Braden has been better from the right side after everyone was saying he should give up switch hitting and bat exclusively from the left.

Mead is playing 2b with 2bb tonight. I wonder what position he’s gonna play with the Sox cuz this team has a whole lotta 2b.

Good stuff from McCullough in his return from injury. 4IP, 0ER, 1H, 0BB, 4K.

Bergolla looks nice at short.

I'm curious if he even sniffs Chicago this season. Getz's comments sure don't make it sound like he will.

"We identified some things in his offensive game that we feel like we can try to tap into to make him a real impactful major league player," Getz said of Mead, who will report to Triple-A Charlotte. "It's about the next two months of work, going into the offseason and seeing where we are at come spring training with Curtis."

I guess it’s just one game.  Maybe they just want to see how his arm is.  I read that it’s pretty bad in his scouting reports.  The Sox have a hole at 1B so I just assumed they would move him there.  I wonder if they see him as a starter somewhere or just as a utility guy a la Ben Zobrist?

They obviously have some adjustments they want him to work on and get comfortable with in a low stress environment.

Hopefully by ST he can lock down a starting spot with the big club.

Yea I'm fine with it. Let him cook in the minors. Just tired of watching Rojas.

Is there a control issue here?  Do they gain an extra year by NOT recalling him?

Well Mead just drilled a double to the wall, so that's nice.

Makes zero sense not to recall him when AAA season ends, though.

It's a very oddly specific amount of time to say, someone you have never met or worked with, needs to be "fixed".  How do they already know it's two months, which is almost exactly what is left in the MiLB season?  How come he couldn't get this figured out in a day, a week, or even a month?

Braden goes 2-4 with a HR. Antonacci 3-4 with a BB and 4 RBI. Galanie 1-5 with a HR.

Barons win 6-0, pitching their 4th shutout in 5 games.

Antonacci sure seems like he will be a future fixture.

HR Ramos. He’s been heating up. Sox may actually have some depth at 2b/3b. Would be nice if any of them could play outfield.

I stand corrected. Ramos is playing LF tonight.

Couple of thoughts:

- Please god, let Braden and [insert 2B of choice] be the RF and 2B that the Sox haven't had since Dye/Iguchi.

- Looked at Burke's stats out of curiosity and man, he's the poster child of being consumed by Birmingham.

2b gonna be interesting. Sosa is hitting well enough to be hard to dislodge. Ultimately, I think Antonacci > Meidroth, but Meidroth can play ss and is probably a better defender at 2b, although Antonacci has the stronger arm. Then you’ve got Mogollon and I can imagine Bonemer as a big 2b. Lotta options.

Maybe Michael Jordan could have been a great OF, and Birmingham just kept him down.
