Teel has been better defensively so far than Quero, especially framing. I think it would be crazy to move him to 1b.

Quero's pop time and pickoffs got a lot of attention.

Teel has really improved through the year and has that captain of the team infectious personality/leadership.

Yeah, and so you could rotate Korey Lee with Quero? Korey Lee hasn't exactly been a world beater in AAA this year. I agree it's crazy to move Teel off catcher for him.

He's a better framer, but his blocking, etc. needs work.

Quero is one of 3 catchers with 0 passed balls in 400+ innings behind the plate (Raleigh, Dingler). He has a .998 fielding percentage which is also top 3.

Teel has 5 passed balls in fewer innings, and a lower fielding percentage (.991).

I also prefer Quero's work with pitchers, but some of that is biased because I've seen much more of it since he's been in the system longer.

No, this conversation was happening last week.

There was Sosa trade talk on the Future Sox podcast by James Fox. Just idle speculation though like a 3 for 1 trade to get a serious legit LH Outfielder or something. I just remember Sosa , a Starting pitcher and relief pitcher mentioned for 1 guy. Cant remember if any name was mentioned for the return piece.

Is it just coincidence that Shane Smith pitches his best game with Korey Lee calling the game from behind the plate?

Probably. Smith's been pitching a lot better lately since his IL stint. Plus he pitched great early in the season without Lee.

Probably. He pitched well to Thaiss, so there could be something to a "vet" being good for him, but he's also just made some tweaks that have resulted in overall improvement recently.

They want them all to keep learning under McKinven and Drew Butera.

Edit who am i kidding they wouldn't make it within 40 feet of the ball

Did the Royals challenge it? Watching the highlights, it sure looks like he had a sno-cone hit the ground, and the ball bounced deeper into his mitt. Beautiful play, tho.

It's actually very cool that Luis can go 0-4 and it's not a death knell for the offense.

Also stole a rest day for Colson, Tauch, and Teel, and only used two arms to boot. Good stuff.

You hate to see Robert going 0-4 against LHP though when everyone else was lighting Cameron up.
