Quietly Venable is becoming a very good Manager. His players respect and like him and most importantly they play really hard for him. I don't want to get too excited but I have to admit I feel more positive about this team and their future than I have in a long while.

Now it's really important they finish this season strong. Go in to the off season feeling really good about the direction this franchise is finally headed.

Should be an exciting Soxfest too

For the love of God, no more shitty utility players on 3/4 million dollar contracts blocking kids from playing.

  • Fletcher's 2nd double. Trade won.

  • And that’s the first time they have ever won 6 in a row where all 6 were comeback wins.

Gotta say too when leasure has been good of late. The problem is there is no in between with him. When he's good he's good but when he's bad he stinks up the joint. A little more consistency with the slider makes him tough. Seems to have that f*** it mentality

Will Guaranteed rate turn that arrow around now?

I'm not expecting too much next year because I dont expect JR let Getz sign anyone beyond a 1 year contract in 2026 because there will probably be a labor impasse leading to a strike and players with multiyear contracts will get paid during a strike. JR wont want to do that at this point in his life .If no revenue is coming in he won't want to be paying players for not playing.

It’s also unlikely they’ll spend big money. JR isn’t going to lock into a big contract (surprise) not knowing how the financial landscape will change going forward.

One year contracts will probably be the play, so we’re looking at the scrap heap again. Have to hope for internal improvements and some luck with whoever we sign.

.500ish isn’t out of the question, and, as was said, that’s on the border of the last wildcard. So, we might be deadline buyers rather than sellers for a change.

As I’ve said in other threads, I’d rather watch these young guys try and fail than the players from the last rebuild go through the motions again. This has been an enjoyable second half. I’ve watched way more than I expected.

Totally agree, but it’s not like they’ll sign any premium FA’s.

Amen, brother. I will actually be looking forward to Spring Training next year.
