They were trying to get Counsell to bench Busch. It worked for getting the leadoff guy out, but the rest did not. You look clever if it works, but incredibly stupid if it doesn't.

a lot of avoidable drama to put Sasaki in that situation

Just how healthy is Churio? I have a hard time believing he's close to 100% even if his hamstring strain is a grade 1.
