At least he was bad in the minor leagues too, so he's consistent!

Getz saw a first round pick available and just couldn't help himself!

Boom.  Nailed it.

At no point do I ever want Matt Shaw on my team because I will always actively root against him.

You could have just stopped there.

There really are some anonymous shitbags on this website. Just a completely derailed thread full of utter nonsense.

I'm that way.  Only Dodger fans get to have nice things. I'm not sure if there is a good solution but how many teams draft a pitcher who becomes successful knowing that they will have to do it again because they can't afford it.

I'm pretty sure that drafting one pitcher who becomes successful doesn't set a team up for a decade of playoff appearances.

The Blue Jays are in agreement with free agent reliever Tyler Rogers on a three-year, $37MM contract, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The deal includes an $11MM vesting option for the 2029 season. The signing is still pending a physical.

Blue Jays Phillies Yankees Mets Red Sox Braves...

Baltimore, remains to be seen after Alonso.  Likely a trade of position prospects for pitching.

Seems everyone else is pulling back on spending.

Rangers having a busy night.

Tyler Alexander is off the board!

Rangers are reportedly open to trading Seager for a haul, and generally looking to be cutting back on payroll.

Of course they are.  No thank you.  We already have our Seager and he isn’t turning 32 when the season starts.

"That leaves one opening for a handful of players. Collins, Perkins and former first-round pick Garrett Mitchell would battle for playing time if they’re all on the roster. The Brewers have speedster Brandon Lockridge as a fifth outfielder and took a flier on Akil Baddoo on a split contract. They all have minor league options, so it’s not necessary to force a trade. There’s enough depth that they’re willing to move someone for help elsewhere on the roster. Rosenthal and Sammon write that Milwaukee could target a relief pitcher with minor league options who’d provide additional flexibility for a team that leans heavily on its bullpen."

Not sure the Brewers would go for either Leasure or Taylor to replace Megill (if they do in fact trade him as rumored.)

Collins has regression written all over him...and Perkins looks like more of a useful fourth OF but not a regular.

Polanco to the Mets

Basically, fans can only take the East Coast teams at all seriously at this juncture.

That leaves the Dodgers and maybe the Mariners all alone in the West...at least until the Giants decide they're actually a large market team.

Maybe the Tigers, at least until they package Skubal for prospects.

Old and bad friends news…

Athletics released LHP Jared Shuster.

Angels re-signed INF Yolmer Sánchez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Rangers have reached an agreement with free agent left-hander Tyler Alexander on a one-year deal.

Polanco signed to the exact same years and dollars as Robert. Obviously, he had a much better offensive year, but Robert's defensive value is lightyears ahead of Polanco. Maybe he's not as overpaid as we thought.

Mets better have some big trades left because their offseason is awful.

Trading for Luis Robert ain’t it either

For our sake I hope it is, maybe Sterns gets desperate and actually gives the Sox something of value for him.
