Simple solution...

Ask Riku Nishida at BIRM what HE thinks about Southside Samurai (probably hard to answer) but especially why those jerseys might be upsetting to Japanese.

Dodgers collaborate with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami...

The overwhelming popularity of artist Takashi Murakami's MLB Tokyo Series merchandise has fueled another round of colorful and joyful Dodgers gear.

Why couldn't the White Sox do something similar with Mune Murakami's merchandise???

Artist literally has the same exact last name.

"The Murakami gear was part of a record-breaking special event for Fanatics, in which the company reportedly took in $40 million across related merchandise and trading cards."

Since then Murakami has integrated his art on Louis Vuitton handbags, a Kanye West album cover and the Kid Cudi collaboration “Kids See Ghosts.” He also had a solo exhibition in 2022 at The Broad titled Takashi Murakami: Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow that included sculpture, painting, wallpaper and immersive installations.

For example, there's also the most famous Japanese living writer as well...

1Q84 (いちきゅうはちよん, Ichi-Kyū-Hachi-Yon; stylized in the Japanese cover as "ichi-kew-hachi-yon") is a novel written by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, first published in three volumes in Japan in 2009–2010.[1] It covers a fictionalized year of 1984 in parallel with a "real" one. The novel is a story of how a woman named Aomame begins to notice strange changes occurring in the world. She is quickly caught up in a plot involving Sakigake, a religious cult, and her childhood love, Tengo, and embarks on a journey to discover what is "real".

Nice gesture by the Sox to celebrate Mune's 250th pro HR

He broke a Japanese record as the youngest player to reach that milestone across NPB/MLB

29. White Sox (previously: 29)
You know how the worry about Munetaka Murakami was that he wouldn’t be able to hit offspeed stuff? Well, since he homered in his first three games, he’s 5-for-42 with one homer, four RBIs, and 18 strikeouts in his past 13 games. In that time, he has seen fastballs in less than half the pitches thrown to him, which might have something to do with it.

Murakami 15th in mlb exit velo.

Vargas all the way down at 113, then Meidroth and Acuna inexplicably in front of Colson.

I find average exit velocity to be a rather useless statistic. Not much different between a 60mph batted ball and a 75mph one but they have quite different effects on your average. And that's setting aside the other things you might want to know about how the ball was hit, such as whether it was straight down, straight up, or somewhere in between.

Not surprisingly Sox are near the bottom of that stat, too.

The list of Top 30/40 hitters has some pretty big names.

Burger at 30 and Robert 38 not unexpected at all.

Did hope that Colson would be a lot higher than he was...he's more of a centerpiece player for the future.

Jordan Walker was almost dumped by the Cards after 2-3 disappointing/under achieving years and suddenly is one of the best players in baseball. It's just another indicator of the tool box.

He has altered this franchise forever. Bidets are now part of the fabric of the ballpark experience for these guys, which is priceless change

Good luck with Getz ever convincing Jerry to spend money again if Murakami truly is a bust. Hopefully, it’s just a cold streak and this is not the case.

Remember, Getz had to tag team Jerry with Brooks Boyer to convince him that the return on marketing along with the player himself would be worth $34 million plus a $6.575 million posting fee for two seasons.

Yes, Andrew Vaughn stunk, much worse than that even. Not sure what invoking his name is trying to do here.

Well that account invoked his name, I only related the bottom line graphic as the purpose. But we can compare him to Vaughn and find out if this has any merit?

Vaughn was well on his way to having the worst season in MLB history before he got sent down last year, so can compare that to anyone in baseball.

This was always going to be a dicey signing. There is a reason that the Sox got him for basically 2/40. If he was a slam dunk, he would have been a $200 million player. We need to see if he can adjust to MLB pitching. It doesn't take long for them to find a weakness and exploit it. Now Mune has to adjust back.

Median a much better rep. And EV90.

Seems to be a pretty strong correlation between Jordan Walker being first in EV and one of the best players in baseball so far.

Hit his MLB-leading 8th homer tonight. Cardinals were wise to stick with him. Remember the Fedde / Walker rumors? Cardinals wouldn’t part with him.

😕

The MLB game was always going to be an adjustment, but props to Sox players and staff for seemingly helping Mune settle in comfortably off the field.

Seemed to have a great time pounding beers at the Hawks game last night with the boys. Obviously will have to adjust to MLB pitching but at least th chemistry part seems to be going well
