I was glad to be able to play at part in both of those documentaries. Matt Flesch is already working on his next one, "The Stadium" dealing with the old Chicago Stadium. he's already had interviews with a number of former Blackhawks and some Bulls players. I've sent him some Bulls and Hawks games from the 70's and 80's so he can use some game footage to show what it looked like back then.

I had a feeling Id be hearing from you if I posted about it.🙂

It seems like he believes he’s a switch hitter. You don’t just call someone a switch hitter who has never done it professionally at any level lol

Edit: if he did it one time, that’s a misspeak. But goddamn lol

Four times is definitely no misspeak.  He believes it to be true.  He must’ve watched a lot of Acuna’s game tape.  🤣

Good to see people on X questioning why Getz keeps saying Acuna is a switch hitter

I caught that in his interview and figured he must have confused him with Baldwin or something.  Does he keep saying it?  Seems like you should probably know the handedness of a player you just acquired.

Definitely feeds the idea that the Sox just took back the Mets’ long-rumored trade offer since they agreed to not take back any money from the Sox in the deal.  As does all the immediate trades and signings that occurred right after Robert’s $20 million was freed up.

In this particular thread, someone said that he supposedly might have done it playing around in BP when they were scouting him...but that involves lots of conjecture and still not a great look.

Then attempts to pin down all the times Getz mentioned it.

Maybe Carlos Rodriguez, Barfield or Gene Watson can explain it?

He hasn’t done it professionally nor in the fall/winter league this offseason so safe to assume it’s not happening (unless reported otherwise)

They also went to all the credibility baseball info sites and nothing there....either.

What next, his alternate middle name is Barry/Berry?

Who was that huge Braves like $4 million signing at SS that turned out to be the wrong age/identity?

Pretty sure he ended up with LAA.

"Acuña grew up in La Sabana, Venezuela.[1] Acuña had agreed in principle to sign with the Atlanta Braves in 2017, but due to the Braves international signing scandal, Atlanta was stripped of its ability to pay his signing bonus and he returned to the open market.[1][2] On July 2, 2018, Acuña signed with the Texas Rangers for a $425,000 signing bonus.[3][4]

The only thing I could find about Luisangel Acuna maybe switch hitting was his Ronald Acuna hitting a homer left-handed during BP lol

JR must have met him for breakfast/lunch after the trade, where Acuna related his long-held dream of becoming a switch hitter one day.  Must have been a hazy, cigar smoked filled room to complete the picture.

Voila!

Message gets pushed down to Getz.

JR's Brooklyn, then Los Angeles Dodgers 1963, Jim Gilliam 3B, Maury Wills SS, Jim Lefebvre 2B and Wes Parker 1B.

"Above them, team owner Joe Lacob had bonded with Jonathan Kuminga at a Miami dinner during the 2021 predraft process and gripped onto the idea that Kuminga could still become a face of the franchise's next era at several forks in the road. But Lacob was too unwilling to move off a dream that didn't fit the roster or system, one his coaching staff didn't desire to execute, team sources said.
