2026 Olympics

USA mixed doubles curling team knocked off the Italians, who I believe were the reigning Olympic gold medalists and World Champs. Team USA curls tomorrow for the Gold against Sweden. I just watched "Miracle" yesterday so I was hyped for a big upset.

Suck it Italy!!!

Awesome ending to that and wow did Great Britain fall apart.

I couldn’t believe that Lindsey Vonns team let her try to compete with one ACL blown out.  I very much could believe that it led to her crashing and most likely ended her career

Something bugged me about that.  She was given a spot over someone but I am not certain how that all works out but it seemed that there was a story there that was not being addressed.  Maybe they couldn't change or were just deferring to her after all she has accomplished.

Story was that the knee did not affect the fall but who knows.

Came down to the last throw or roll.....love watching curling every 4 years but I never know the correct parlance.

My wife watched most of the match earlier in the day and said "it was like 3 1/2 hours!!" I told her that I enjoy watching an entire baseball game so curling is right up my alley.

Its not that uncommon in that event. The key is if the swelling is decreased enough for the range of motion. Many skiers participate with ACL injuries. Brace it and inject it.

Eh, everyone in that sport says this isn't totally uncommon and she was one of the best performing athletes in each training run.  And the 5th ranked USA downhill skier doesn't even have a remote chance at placing in the medals (probably wouldn't even finish top 20).

See, that is what I did not understand as I have never even seen a ski hill so good to know.

Thanks

I love the oddity of the winter sports that I only need to see every 4 years.

Curling, Luge, Biathlon, skiing.  Not a fan of ice skating.

I agree except for the skiing. I go at least 3 times per year so I enjoy that one all the time.

Watched the luge relay event yesterday. Did not know that was a thing.

The short track speed skating and snow board cross races are a blast....my wife calls them the dog track races because racers run into each other and wipe out so often.

Missed relay luge but need to go find it.  Snowboard cross is great.

Gu just seventh place in Big Air....after two runs lol.

Finished second with third run.

One of her top competitors who beat her for gold last week had withdrawn as well.

Last chance for gold is slopestyle on Sat.

Gold Gold Silver was always going to be tough to live up to away from Beijing.
