That doesn’t make Greg Gabriel any less of a cranky b**** that puts himself on the wrong side of a tweet 😂

He's also not owed any guaranteed money after 2028.Yep, I thought he was an impending free agent and they were giving up that draft capital and would still have to extend him with a Parsons-type deal. Missed the Titans extension over the summer. This is a good deal.
22 hours ago22 hr Yea they were just saying signing bonus is done, titans take the cap hit next two years, bears basically on the hook for 35M for this year and next, and can get out of it in year 3 if necessary. If not it’s I believe 8.1M for year 3
20 hours ago20 hr I watch the Bears, NFL playoffs and stuff here and there. Never heard of this guy before the morning talk said he was available and good so imagine my surprise when I heard the Bears traded for the best DT in football. Can't argue with that.
20 hours ago20 hr Good lawd this would be a crazy different defense to just ADD Mack and Simmons and not lose anyone

Would love this. All they would need after this would be a DB (Jaylon Johnson is cooked) and I'd like their chances.
20 hours ago20 hr I'm not sure what they can do to fit Mack in with the salary cap. I'd imagine they are pretty tapped out since they have to pay Simmons something like 7 million this year. I think Mack's pro-rated salary is $8 million, so they'd have to kick the can on someone's contract to make room.
19 hours ago19 hr I loooove this trade, love it.With the Bears getting Simmons I think of what Chris Jones at DT did for the Chiefs SB teams, total dominance, game wrecker. Simmons in the middle of the line demanding double teams and still getting sacks, hurries, and stuffing the run is what he does. His play will make the rest of the D line even better. Dennis Allen has the guy that he was looking for.Try and find a Simmons in the draft, good luck, very very rare commodity. Edited 19 hours ago19 hr by Falstaff
19 hours ago19 hr I had a couple of our football coaches today making comments to me about the Bears and I didn't quite figure out what they were talking about until I saw the news. At first I thought damn that's a steep price but then I realized the next few drafts won't be near the top with those first round picks.

17 hours ago17 hr Here's a big question with Mack. Would you limit him to 25 to 30 snaps, primarily in passing situations, and would he accept that role? As the finishing touch and if he was fresh come January -- wow

He's playing about 45 snaps per game right now with the Chargers, but my guess is he'd be fine coming back to Chicago and playing in a rotation.
14 hours ago14 hr Mack will want to go to Bears…4th is too much…let’s see Chargers do solid and move him to Bears for a 6th. On Simmons…was it expensive yes…is he a beast…yes. Elite difference maker on cap friendly deal in his prime (would love if he was 2 years younger but he is literally an all pro machine). This guy fills a huge area of weakness and makes every other guy on the line better - from Sweat to Booker to Jarrett to Turner etc. So fired up!!! I didn’t want some mediocre deal I wanted a legit deal for a true difference maker. I like Simmons more than Crosby. Love the move! Let’s go Bears!!! Let the 2 picks be 32nd overall!

Plus I went back and read an article when he was traded and it was clear the Bears were trying to find a good spot for him. The Chargers were looking good back then. No ill will from what I read.
