Thursday at 06:52 AM4 days stuck with grifol - Getz probably recommended him because of his Royal envy. How many organizations promote the minor league director who wasn't successful at that?We know there's at least one or two on this forum will make excuses that even Getz wish he thought of.

4 hours ago4 hr Sox fans placed the team 23rd on overall optimism https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7153999/2026/03/30/mlb-hope-o-meter-results-ranking/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983&userId=6062851&source=dailyemail
4 hours ago4 hr This first series was pretty much as bad as it can possibly get. The first two games were completely uncompetitive and they were dominated 20-3 in scoring over those two games. The third game was awesome until a 7-3 lead was evaporated in 1 inning for another blown loss in the same fashion we have been seeing for several years now, a terrible bullpen. The Marlins series is going to be the true test to me, this is the type of team they should be able to get 2/3 from at this point.

A sweep would be divine.
3 hours ago3 hr 23rd? They must not have polled this board because if they did we'd come back 30th with the gap between 29 and 30 bigger than the Mariana Trench.

2 hours ago2 hr I was living in a suspended state where I just handed off my opinions to some national writers saying the sox had a productive offseason, but when that opening day roster came out and I was hit with the atrocious starting rotation, the bullpen without vasil, and that 'outfield' I realized that the sox are just trying to do everything in their power to kill baseball for us. Opening weekend was sickening. Can you imagine if we didn't get murakami?

The only significantly improved area of the team since Getz got here is the IF, and that's mostly just the product of a guy the previous regime drafted and trading a once a generation SP that the previous regime drafted. I gave Getz like a C+ or B- for the offseason, but as you said, one or two key injuries (vasil, baldwin) and suddenly that decent offseason looks putrid sans Muri.

Writers who are often negative are shunned.
1 hour ago1 hr collecting shortstops - isn't that a trend these days? they are often considered the most athletic and may convert them to the OF. Sox just happen to convert players at the MLB level a bit too much or AAA.

They are not White Sox bad. They do operate as if Reinsdorf was running that team.

All he needs to do until Ishbia takes over is to do a good job of bullshitting to the press about how great things are going for this franchise and how their plan is coming together just like Hahn did for many years. I don't see Getz being under much pressure for the next few years....until 2029 at the earliest. If any prospects turn out to be a huge success, just flip him for some decent prospects and point to that as proof that he has skills as a GM just like they did with Crochet. A shortstop can play any other non-catcher position, and most right-handed, good athletes play shortstop before they reach professional baseball. Drafting shortstops is much better practice than drafting first basemen. There were like three more shortstops we should've drafted before taking Hagen.

Optimistic that the team will make the playoffs? Laughable. Can't imagine that number is more than 1-2%. Optimistic that the team is "moving in the right direction?" Or that the team is becoming more watchable? Or that there's some semblance of a plan? That's something different, and where I think most informed optimists are living.
