‘‘A long time ago,’’ Reinsdorf said. ‘‘But it seems like yesterday. We need better pitching. The rest of the ballclub is OK, but we need pitching. And we need some wins.’’

And the South Side congregation said, ‘‘Amen.’’

Interesting point, JR. Didn't notice all those starting pitchers on the free agency market? Might've had to spend some money though.

Also Murakami seemed to choose the White Sox over the Ugly Sox despite reportedly the same money.

If the sale isnt happening till at least 2029 or even later if the plan is to sell when he dies, that means as long as he owns the team he is likely to have to pay the salaries of the players.

Having more relatively inexpensive contracts not longer than 2 years means he's saving around $100M per year ( current player payroll vs $185M payroll ).

players look at the same social media stuff everyone does. what do they know. they like money and playing time, and have little insight unless they're actively interviewing with an organization.

I mean, if the Sox offer Framber Valdez in December the same contract Detroit did, is he gonna say no in the hopes of the Tigers matching three months later?
