April 4Apr 4 From the Sun-Times game recap from Friday:"Reinsdorf has not done interviews in years, but he chatted briefly with an ink-stained acquaintance who said he last had spoken with him in a champagne-soaked clubhouse in 2005, when the Sox won the World Series,‘‘A long time ago,’’ Reinsdorf said. ‘‘But it seems like yesterday. We need better pitching. The rest of the ballclub is OK, but we need pitching. And we need some wins.’’And the South Side congregation said, ‘‘Amen.’’
April 4Apr 4 Interesting point, JR. Didn't notice all those starting pitchers on the free agency market? Might've had to spend some money though.

April 4Apr 4 Jerry,Jerry,Jerry. We need more pitching do we? What a concept! What an eye for baseball. It sure is a good thing we got such a solid baseball mind for an owner.

Having more relatively inexpensive contracts not longer than 2 years means he's saving around $100M per year ( current player payroll vs $185M payroll ).

I mean, if the Sox offer Framber Valdez in December the same contract Detroit did, is he gonna say no in the hopes of the Tigers matching three months later?
