I have never seen a major league team with less qualified MLB hitters that exist on

this team right now

This situation appears to me that nobody is being held accountable for this situation. I'm really starting to wonder about this Whits Sox manager. Last night Everson Pereira hit a home run. Tonight he didn't play. Wouldn't you want somebody in your lineup who just hit a home run? Yet he keeps running out Acuna who has been useless. I noticed at the end of the game the manager was laughing about something. I don't think this game was anything to laugh about. This is a terrible situation this team is in.There doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel. And it seems like the people running this don't care.

The "Light" is named Ishbia. Try to stay alive to see what he may be able to do.

Regarding Acuna, it has been speculated for years that Sox G.M.'s were telling managers who to play and how often. Maybe that's the case here, where getz is telling Venable to keep playing him.

Getz is under enough fan pressure and maybe doesn't want to feel the brunt of another fan blowback due to a poor trade. Maybe he thinks playing him, he'll eventually start to turn it around.

In 12 of the 18 games played so far they've scored three runs or less, that's 67%.

I mean when the vast majority of the hitters are awful, you can't bench them all.

that's what happens when you try building an entire MLB roster out of your farm system

At least for the present time, I would have Antonacci in LF, Periera in RF and Derek Hill in CF.

I am fine with Vargas, Colson, Chase and Mune in the infield. Teel cannot be back soon enough. McGuire and Quero have been awful.

There is no place on this team for Benintendi or Acuna. DFA both of them without delay.

As far as the hitting slump, yes, it has been horrible. Watching the Rays offense is depressing on the one hand, but on the other, there are lessons that can be taken from them, hard as that is to stomach. Consider, for example, the way the Rays' line-up is constructed, how hitters know their roles, and how they use their at-bats strategically. As a fan I notice that many of their swings are quick and short - especially when all that is needed is a base hit. They get runners on, they steal bases, and drive in a lot of runs. That is why they lead their division.

The Sox? Our biggest power hitters either strike out or walk for the most part and the rest of our line-up does not seem to have a unified strategy. Steve Stone suggested that the Sox were hunting first pitch fastball as a strategy. Maybe have a meeting with the hitting coach and reconsider that.

McGuire being awful was to be expected but Quero has taken a massive step back so far this season. With Quero there is at least hope he can return to at least last seasons's level but McGuire is just filling a space until Teel return, hopefully not rushed causing recurrent injuries, as this season is a bust no matter when Teel returns.

I also have some hope that Quero can return to last season's form but he looks like a different player this year - a bit stodgy, less powerful, and slower. Maybe that little girl Kory Lee fan that was interviewed in last night's game was prescient, at least the Sox should consider having Korey as the back-up catcher when Kyle Teel returns. The two blokes that are out there should be cannon fodder soon.

I can't help but wonder what if anything will be happen if this team keeps losing. I don't think JR cares if this team wins or loses. He just wants a low payroll team. But still, this is getting to the point that something will have to be done. I don't think I've ever seen a White Sox team that is so bad offensively. Montgomery and Quero have really been a disappointment.

I saw last season Venable being questioned about the batting order and his response was essentially that he couldn't explain the reasoning as it was produced by numbers crunchers. As best as I can remember, this was more about the order than the personnel. I actually think it's probably good to have sabermetrics people having heavy input into that kind of thing but man if I was hired as a manager I'd want to make it my mission to understand the process producing those recommendations. And I took it as a sign that today's big league managers must be able to check their egos a good bit considering how many things they are being asked to delegate to other people.

I think it is most likely that Quero would actually benefit from time in AAA against easier competition and with fewer eyes on him. He's tried to make some adjustments to be less of a defensive hitter but so far it has made him lose the benefits of being defensive (hard to strike out, good swing decisions) and none of the benefits of being aggressive (power hitting). The truth is probably that he was mildly overmatched in AAA last season but he was able to slap his way into some production and rode that wave to the majors. But he was once a player who could hit a few homers and I think if he wants to be that guy again he would probably do well to go back down and work on stuff.
