Rays @ White Sox 1:10 pm 4/16/26 Gamethread

Sox could have used a shred of luck - just an inch or two on Quero's ground rule double to keep it in the field or an inch or two on that line shot that tipped off Vargas' glove. Baseball is a game of inches and with a bit of luck the Sox might have won.

The difference in this game, in my opinion, was in the top of the ninth facing Caminero. Caminero is their hottest and best hitter. He is a prodigious home run hitter. First of all, you do not throw him anything in the strike zone. Walk him intentionally or otherwise or better yet drill him, fine. He goes to first base but remember, he is a tank. They can pinch run for him but it would have to be with a pitcher because they did not have any position players left on the bench. Venable was asleep at the wheel. Anyway Big dude looked for it, got it and killed it.

So now what-to-do? After two blown saves by Seranthony, Getz has to consider replacing him as our Closer ... either by Grant Taylor or with Tanner McDougal from Charlotte.

Like it or not I don't think they'll be as quick to pull that trigger yet.

So we’re looking to be the first team in 60 years to have 4 consecutive 100+ loss seasons.

A team looking to be historical!

But remember Getz was hired because JR didn't want to "waste" a season.

I think it's 90 years, which is longer than the White Sox World Series drought when they won in 2005.
