Acuna

Featured Replies

It’s time for Acuna to be sent down, let’s bring up Jacob Gonzalez!!

Acuna would have to be DFA’ed and clear waivers to be sent to Charlotte.

Oh darn. What would we ever do if we lose him...

Getz would lose face yet again...like the WNBA draft night trade, acquired player already waived before the season even started, GS/Seattle.

There's no need to convert him in OF. They have 5 outfielders already. He'd be the 5th IF and thatd be fine.

Why bring him up to ride the bench?

Only Antonacci and Pereira have prospect status.

Nobody is going to claim that piece of crap. DFA him.

Because hes not a real prospect. Did you just answer your own question?

Trade him back to the Mets.

Why would THEY want him?

To fill in for the injured Luis Robert

Crazy thing with Acuna is you know Getz never saw him. I don't mean scout him, I mean never saw him. Dumbest thing was touting him as a prospect.

If Sox brought up Gonzales, they would get him in the lineup 2-4 times a week. No more Acuna to take up space at short. Gonzales and Meidroth can both play short and second. With those 2 guys you have four infielders for 3 positions. No problem. Get rid of Beni and you have a DH opening. As soon as Pereira is back, Kelenic is gone. Now we have our best players on the roster. They will seek their own level.

They aren't dumping Acuna six weeks into the season. It might be nice to dream of other back up QBs, but it ain't going to happen quick. His being out of options being the primary reason for it.

See how terrible the Mets' have been since they traded him away?

They aren't going to cut him. More likely he moves to the bench to be a backup IF/OF.

He seems to have been quiet benched recently. Including the date, he has started 2 games since Apr 29 and he currently has an OPS 14 points above where the infamous Martin Maldonado finished 2024.

Maybe he SHOULD try switch hitting.
