Nice to see them keep finding different ways to win, including scratching and clawing for this one late. Davis Martin is such a development success story. Win #19 and series win #6, both of which didn

Some here, including yourself, stopped updating projections when the Sox started winning more consistently. All I ever predicted was 77-78 wins. I never said anything about attendance or the playoffs

Love it that opposing teams have to see our 2-4 hitters as very dangerous.

Antonacci looking good in that leadoff spot too.

And even though Meidroth is in no way , shape or form ,a middle of the order hitter , he's been doing well since he was moved there and has a 9 game hit streak.

We’re kinda in a Bizzaro World with the Sox starting pitching right now. Schultz and Burke, who were looking just great, both had terrible games; and Kay, who has been rather sucky, comes out and throws a great game.

Let’s hope Davis Martin can escape the Bazarro-Verse and throw another absolute gem and give the Sox the series win.

Need to ride the wave of DMart and the longest home stand of the year. Hoping to see 30K of you guys in the stands today. Speak up if you're going 🙂.

More pre-game, morning reading. I always come to a lot of this list when people call JR the worst owner in all of sports.

Two questions:

  1. I’m sure this has been discussed on here before, but I’ve never seen it dealt with. But who/ why are the blond women in the White Sox dugout. They’re always there and never mentioned on the broadcast or on here?

  2. And I question this one all the time. How is Kelenic’s name pronounced as only two syllables? What is the nationality/ origin of his surname. Shouldn’t it be pronounced “Ka-Len-ic” or “Kal-a-nic”? Thanks for any help, I wonder that every time I hear his name.

Kelenic is South Slavic, Croatian or Serbian. It would probably properly be pronounced with 3 syllables. Americanization, I guess.

The blonde woman's a trainer.

The A.L. is tightly packed with just a 3.5 game lead for the 1st place Guardians on the last place Twins.

It can become even more packed if the Sox win today while the Tigers beat the Royals and the Twins beat the Guardians again today.

I've always had mixed feelings about Angels situation. They are in a pretty rotten place, to be sure. Feels like they are on a long road to nowhere.

That said, a lot of the bad owner stuff feels different compared to the usual complaints you hear about owners. I assume (but may be wrong) that like most owners, Moreno isn't judging talent and things like that. Just picking the GM and setting the budget. I think of LAA as being pretty aggressive with trying to improve the team through free agency. Of course, the return on those massive investments has been shockingly poor. As the team got more clearly bad, they've stopped throwing around so much stupid money but I never really saw that as being cheap. Maybe the fans see it differently with more knowledge of the situation. Obviously, landing and retaining Trout is a fantastic thing. If my team has to suck ass, at least let me have an inner-inner circle Hall of Famer around. Landing Shohei was a great get as well although I don't know how much of a hand ownership had in that. Losing him stinks, but I also don't know how much I hold him super accountable for it other than of course it may have played out differently if they had built a winner around those two great pieces. Which brings me to the final yearish of Shohei. They sacrificed a lot trying to cobble together a playoff run in that year. It has really burned them badly. But man...especially given the situation the whole organization was in, I appreciated seeing them trying to go for it. You have the equivalent of Ruth and Gehrig and it's about to slip away...you gotta give it your all to try to make something of it even if the odds are against you.

Some of the other things about facilities and stuff, I don't know. Maybe he's become a tightass or negligent owner. I certainly would rather be a Sox fan than an Angels fan right now.

To me, #1 is Tyler Skaggs and the drug-related negligence in the organization. #2 is that Moreno has meddled and signed a player or two to insane deals without the GM's coordination, seemingly, and then tightened the budget.

Comparing this to the Sox, it seems like JR set up a hierarchy where KW and Hahn would be at odds and systems would stagnate without agreement on a way forward. That doesn't seem to be the case with Moreno. Maybe he's part of the conflict that has turned their minor league system into a problem.

I agree with you that the Sox are in a much better position right now.

What a silly post. Why would last year's change, which reverted somewhat mid-season, have anything to do with the offseason changes he made this year, which have been much more significant than the swing change last year. He's swinging 3.5 mph harder this year than last.

The biggest change for vargas is he got much stronger. Last year he wasn't good. This year he's been very good.

A lot of the graphics are different today because of CHSN Kids Day.

Sloppy ass start on defense becoming a trend.

not a good start

John doesn't even know that ABS is talking to the umps about the zone as the game is in progress. We have such a baseball loving play by play guy. Constantly researching.

This is a fucking joke in the field.
