Literally nobody has ever said it's an important stat that has any sense at all. It's a fluke. A team has never been able to consistently outperform their talent in 1 run games outside a one season sa

Bryan Hudson. Who knew....

Very tall lefty pitchers are very few, and they have the Randy Johnson intimidating factor, and find the way to be effective. IMO.

I unironically hope he is passing on any useful "huge lefty" tips he's got to Schultz.

His English is fine, just had a few cervezas celebrating the win with us tonight

Its not his English in question its his heavy accent which makes understanding it difficult. Even in Spanish, Venezualans are difficult to understand. Watch a spanish or mexican tv show then Venezuelan it sounds like they are speaking an entirely different language almost

Ozzie's whole purpose on TV is saying crazy stuff in Spanglish. He is not Bill Melton

No he's speaking straight English.

I think Hill has at least earned himself a start the next 2 days. Especially against Bubic on Thursday.

Hill had a great catch in the 9th ! He looks good out there on defense. It is going to be difficult for Acuna to maintain a roster spot once Periera and Hays come up.

cannot handle many more games like this where the bullpen just comes in and pisses down their leg, getz has to do something

He will. Bring in new bozos and keep the ones that suck the least. My first impression of Schweitzer did not hold up. Looked outclassed today. But they closed a game out anyway.

He def seems flustered in high leverage situations. Can we get Crede to come back and coach him 1 on 1?

He was actually 4 for 9 in bases loaded situations so far this year. But that was a terrible AB after 2 straight walks. You have to force the pitcher to throw a strike. Before he came to bat I was talking to my TV " Make him throw a strike Colson . He's on the ropes" Followed by about 3 "DOHs !!!!" and a " WTF are you doing?". 🤣

You were miserable for most of it!

Game thread miserable is a different animal than I'm just mad about everything miserable.

There's some here who wouldn't be caught dead being happy about the Hill HR with a "DEREK MF HILL !!!" outburst.

Romo ops is crazy for a sub 200 average.

His slug was .721 after the HR. Only 25 ABs though and his OBP is also good.

That bullpen usage was nuts until it worked out perfectly.

Just like the string of ph'ers.

Importantly, won this one without anything from the Big 3 except Vargas RBI..Fedde starting too.

I know people were pissed about Schweitzer pitching like crap, as was I, but I didnt think it was that bad of a gamble by Venable.

You had 4 innings to cover, seemed like Taylor, Hudson and Dominguez were all going to get 1. That left 1 inning to cover and you got a 3 run leadwith a young guy who pitched well the last inning they used him a few days ago. Better to use him in the 6th than any later. Maybe he gets 3 outs and gets a little confidence for his next appearance.

You can't manage just thinking about the game at hand. This isn't game 7 of a playoff game. You need to set up the pen for the rest of the series so Newcomb might get 2 innings tomorrow, Tyler Davis for an inning and whoever is freshest among Hudson and Dominguez or both of them tomorrow consider Dominquez only threw 10 pitches and Hudson 7 today. But ideally only one of them tomorrow so one of them is left for the 3rd game.

Or maybe Sox get blown out and we see Hicks and Newcomb and the other guys get the rubber match.

I'm not sure the starting pitching holds up over the course of the season, but this team is fun, likeable and on an upward trajectory. Let's get Teel back, hopefully bring Braden up at some point and let it ride in this dog s%*# division.

Upward trajectory you say ? Winguardium Leviosa ! 🪄. I wonder if Vasil uses that spell with his Harry Potter wand to make things rise. It's straight from the movies and good for a team rising rising, home runs, and .....well, she'll like it too !
