2026 MLB Catch All (Non Sox, Non AL Central)

Julio Rodriguez has a 597 OPS in the 2nd half and negative fWAR. He has 2.1 fWAR for the season and a wRC+ of 100. He's older than Chase and Colson and about a year younger than Vargas and Mune.

He should be in his prime as a superstar but he's turned into about an average regular. Some parallels with Robert, he just cannot lay off sliders outside. Julio is much more talented and stays relatively healthy, but sometimes guys just never improve their faults and the league gets wise.

Turned on Cubs game and saw the worst “call stands” against the Pirates I’ve ever seen. Bad umpiring across the board is so obnoxious.

The stolen base? That was brutal

Seemingly in speaking about his client De La Cruz, this is what Boras said>

"We don't care what dinner time is. When you're the steak, you sit there and wait for what? You wait for what the market brings. And you listen."

There are two ways to read that.

On the one hand, Boras implies that De La Cruz won't rush into a deal and will listen to the cases made to him from every team down the road. Maybe that leaves the door open to an eventual decision to stay in Cincinnati.

But on the other hand, Boras is saying De La Cruz won't be signing an extension before his deal is up in Cincy. That would be the opposite of waiting for the market, and he evidently feels that De La Cruz deserves to get to free agency and bring out some big contract offers from around the league.

Looks like MVPCA will easily reach 45 homers on the season. However, he has slacked lately on his stolen bases (37). He should just attempt a steal every time he gets on base to try to reach the coveted 45/45 and join Ohtani as the only players to do it in a 162 game season.

But not 50/50...

odd numbers aren't exciting

it's 30/30, 40/40 and GOAT Ohtani

"At 20 years, 107 days old, Ethan Salas became the youngest catcher in MLB history with two home runs in the same game. He’s the youngest Padre at any position to do so.

“It was a good day,” a grinning Salas said afterward, marking quite the understatement. “Thankfully we got the win. And I got two good swings off today.”

A good day got even better for the Padres later that night. With the Marlins’ win over the Diamondbacks, the Padres moved 3 1/2 games ahead of Arizona in the race for the final Wild Card spot in the National League."

Padres one game behind Cubbies.

Season series tie, Cubs win tiebreaker on intradivisional record

5-4 Cubs means 7-2 Padres need to finish 91-71

Or 4-5 and 6-3 to win at 90-72, Cubs 89-73
