Hays and Pereira just went back to back in Charlotte.

Hays and Pereira just went back to back in Charlotte.

Hays played 7 innings in RF yesterday and is DHing today, switching with Pereira who is in RF after DHing yesterday.

Pretty funny that we wrote the exact same sentence.

You’d think they’d call up one of them for Yankees series right?

I think Pereira is a bit ahead physically, would be surprised not to see him return this homestand if he finishes the game in the field today.

They don't have room for both guys so curious to see what they do.

They should probably leave one in AAA until the deadline. It’s going to be an awkward scenario because they know there isn’t room for both of them so not sure how they communicate who gets priority when the time comes.

Can they do that? I think there's a limit and deadline won't solve the problem.

If they really like both, why not just replace Perez and Grichuk?

Yeah Grichuk has fallen off.

I think rehab assignments can last 20 days so basically you can call up one and let the other stay in AAA until the deadline. You’d still have to trade or DFA one of them, but having an seven or eight days would be valuable.

Has he fallen off or is it just normal baseball streakiness? He’s a short side platoon player so not exactly huge sample sizes.
