If it’s for “cash considerations” that’s how you know the winds have shifted…

Pittsburgh will receive minor league righty Felix Doroteo in return.”

Apparently Jose hasn’t thrown this year since April 13th.

He's been taking the ball every 5 days in AAA

I seem to recall him as a starter for Houston a few years ago. But I forgot he existed. What’s his story?

Tommy John surgery. Been climbing his way back since then. Looking at how he's pitched in AAA for the past calendar year or so, seems like he's probably more or less the same guy he used to be. Lots of strikes, not a ton of strikeouts, quite a few gopher balls, but not too many runs.

Seems like starter depth and sounds like he’ll report to AAA. Would imagine he takes some starts if someone gets hurt. Or maybe they’re expecting to deal some of the other AAA pitching depth (ex: Mason Adams), who knows.

Charlotte starter seemingly. Why does Charlotte need a starter? Haven't been paying attention down there, but maybe a separate call-up.

May piggy back to Hagen’s move to the pen and give us a potential option to give a look when Noah moves as well.

That’s my guess at least without any further digging.

See everyone at the parade!!

Sure, why not? Decent depth arm.

Charlotte could probably use 3 or 4 of them

Something tells me he will be starting here soon if we don't acquire a SP

Depth for potential trade/call up since they are using McDougal and Smith in the pen as of late?

Shortly the Sox will trade a Charlotte starter, and then Urquidy will take that guy's place in Charlotte's rotation.

Ah no

Sources tell me this is the start of something big!

He's been lights since the end of May and has gone 7 innings in 3 of 10 starts since May 31st. I like this deal. Cheapo team wants cash in exchange for a guy they don't have room for in their stacked rotation.

Much more likely to throw Urquidy out there for the major league team (eventually) than debuting Mason Adams.

Pirates just have too much pitching depth with Jared Jones back.

Managers always tend to prefer veterans over rookies down the stretch unless those rookies just have overwhelming talent advantages.

Would be taking a roster spot.

Competitive innings to give the offense a puncher's chance and bullpen some needed relief.

Doroteo is a 21-year-old Dominican who jumped right to the ACL in his first season. Urquidy was DFAed, so the Sox probably had to jump the line and trade somebody to get him.

What that mean
