Did Venable make a 2nd mound visit on purpose?

Featured Replies

It was probably a mistake. Not unreasonable that Venable pulled a masterclass on this, but I doubt it. I'm less worried about the gaffe and more worried about Schultz turning into a decent starter though.

Yeah he could be taking the heat. He wouldn't admit that he purposely did this. The whole point of this theory was to avoid the embarrassment of short leash for Schultz.

Not only would it have been incredibly odd for him to come out to talk to Noah that early, but that Bove just let him walk out there is kind of telling, too. That important game was about to get away

  • No, I don’t think the Red Sox are cheating. Whoops, wrong conspiracy theory thread.

I dont even know what "execute an appeal" means in baseball context, as in requiring the manager to come out of the dugout. Thats not how you appeal.

The guy screwed up and gave a bs explanation. Happens everyday in life.

This place has jumped the shark it seems and my contributions dont really have a place here anymore. No biggie.

So should we accept what he’s saying as true or not? Seems like you are saying both in this thread.

Look, the whole thing is really strange. I don’t know what to believe. I’m not even trying to argue one way or another. But I do think an appeal is a strange thing pull out of your ass. My feeling is that there’s some truth in that.

What do you think the purpose was of Venable coming out of the dugout? He doesn’t make mound visits unless he’s changing pitchers. That’s what makes the whole thing so weird.

many people are saying that there was a second manager who visited the mound. came out from the grassy knoll in the bullpen.
