August 8Aug 8 It was probably a mistake. Not unreasonable that Venable pulled a masterclass on this, but I doubt it. I'm less worried about the gaffe and more worried about Schultz turning into a decent starter though.

No biggie. So should we accept what he’s saying as true or not? Seems like you are saying both in this thread. Look, the whole thing is really strange. I don’t know what to believe. I’m not even trying to argue one way or another. But I do think an appeal is a strange thing pull out of your ass. My feeling is that there’s some truth in that. What do you think the purpose was of Venable coming out of the dugout? He doesn’t make mound visits unless he’s changing pitchers. That’s what makes the whole thing so weird.
August 8Aug 8 many people are saying that there was a second manager who visited the mound. came out from the grassy knoll in the bullpen.

August 8Aug 8 Idk weird strategy when you’ve depleted your bullpen the night before in a 13-inning game

August 9Aug 9 No way would he do it on purpose and embarrass himself and the team, and on the first inning. He could have just indicated to the catcher to go to the mound to talk to Schultz, and buy time.
